I don't suggest doing this to get around the guest / administrator error issue, however, until there is an official fix on this I will use whatever method works to play the game I've paid to play.
If like me you're on Windows 7 Premium 64 bit and you have no problems with your WMI, don't even bother tinkering further with your PC; there's nothing wrong with it. It's the software.

Myself and others with this issue have extensively tried to troubleshoot the problem with no luck. We tried the current Beta Patch release with no success. We've tried all the "typical" fixes from updating and uninstalling/reinstalling drivers (BIOS/video/sound, you name it, just about all of them) as well as uninstalling/reinstalling and/or updated the PhysX package from the Nvidia site, making us believe this is a software issue beyond our grasp to handle.
For more information we have a substantial thread on this issue in the demo forum, as well as one I started on this issue here in the PC Techncial Self Help Forum:
Error Initializing PhysX (demo forum thread, 8 pages): http://social.biowar...index/6150178/1
and Error Initializing PhysX - Game Unplayable (PC support forum thread: http://social.biowar...14339/1#6562917
Here's the problem in a nutshell:

If someone on the BioWare end can send me a PM here on the forum just to acknowledge that this issue will be added to the list somewhere for consideration (or better yet is already on the list), I'd appreciate it. In the demo thread Will Kuhn noted that it would be looked into, but we haven't heard anything one way or another since. I'd really appreciate the help, thanks in advance.

still got the "guest acc" error (even after trying the different solutions)...if it has to do s.th. with ea´s drm...why cant we just abort it?!...ok ok i know that its easy to share the game then...but we still got our user login...so why cant at least those who have a permanent i-net connection use that as verification. i mean i guess it isnt that hard to get an illegal version of the game by now...even if you´re not into computers. and the fact that some ppl who downloaded/cracked the game have played through it by now is just ironic...
dont get me wrong, i am not supporting those ppl...i believe in you (bioware)...and i just want some updates from time to time...maybe some infos why some things dont work...and some honest opinions.
i dont like to see your reputation going down because of that (not even saying that ist ea´s fault and so on and so on...because i dont know ALL facts...but when no one tells you a thing...you make your own thoughts of it)
yea kinda drifted away from "unable to launch" again...but hey i just needed to say s.th. ^^

Imagine paying all that moolah, and finally playing it by using a crack. I could have just saved the bloody money and downloaded it.
Bioware, learn from this.
So bloody pissed, but I too realise that this issue only affects us minority, while thousands are probably happily screwing kirkwall up and encounter no problems. Still, does not justify the fact that hey, Bioware/EA effed up.

I also have posted in other threads. My problem is I can install the game, but when I press play and it get's to the release date check it goes to 30% then produces an error screen. No matter how many times I press retry it does not work.
I have tried so far...reinstalling, setting admin rights on exe. files (and other related files), turning off all firewalls/virus programs, and setting ports.
Same here

Hiya Chris/other BioWare folks. Since this appears to be the launch-issue HQ, we've been trying to deal with a launching PhysX Error. The game runs the first time configuration without issue, but when you attempt to start it, it gives an "Error initializing PhysX" and then shuts down. The program never gets off the desktop.
Myself and others with this issue have extensively tried to troubleshoot the problem with no luck. We tried the current Beta Patch release with no success. EV#53094 – Some are failing silently after pressing Play.
* User reports suggest this is resolved with the 1.01 BETA patch.
For us Steam users, there are no updates. The previously suggestions of uninstalling the antivirus (AVAST in my case) does not work. Neither are there any other issues. If I had 10.000 angry customers I would be working 24 hour days to get a happy customer, but still, it has now been over 2 days since last update from BioWare. Their customer care seems to have been flooded down the toilet. I appreciate the efforts of the community trying to help their fellow gamers, but I would like to have some official feedback as soon as possible.
