I am also having the EV#53094 error, though the game used to work a month ago, when I went to play it yesterday it crashed on me and after I restarted my computer it just wouldn't load (or do anything else) after I pressed play

Guys, if you still can't get DA2 working, I advise whining to EA Support about it.

I have the Windows account/admin error.

It took me a month of back and forth contact with EA, I but they finally gave me compensation for pre-ordering a game I can't legitimately play in the form of a code for the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age: Origins (still deciding whether to register or gift, since it seems a waste to use it just for a few small DLCs...).

So contact them and complain your hearts out. If anything, they might get rid of crappy DRM on the next game...

The irony of my previous post above is that I can't get the DLCs working either. *facepalm*

Compensated for a faulty product with another faulty product. At least I didn't pay for it this time. :P

Possible Fix for the administrator/guest account problem:

Through BIOS configuration menu, i loaded the optimized default settings, saved and done.
I ran the game as admin and after at least one month of waiting, i can successfully play the game again!!!
I don't know if this fix works for other people as well, but at least give it a try!!!

I did this because i was trying to update my BIOS version, after i saw that it is a possible fix for the admin/guest account error. The first step was to load the BIOS optimized default settings, but i didn't need to update my BIOS in the end. Again,i just loaded the optimized default settings through the BIOS configuration menu and nothing else. Save, restart the PC and run the game as admin (just to be sure).

Hope this helps!!!!:)

Oh my god, I just followed these guys instructions and look at it: the guest account error is gone! Thanks dude, for giving me the first opportunity to play this game legally after more than a month of waiting for it to work!

I just wanted to re-post this because nobody seemed to care about his posting which is in fact really helpful!

I am not the only person in my household that has this game on their computer. I am just the only one that it won't work for, I have the pressing play and getting nothing error. I have tried the patch, I updated my drivers, I even did the Administrator account and just managed to get a whole new error.
I'm frustrated and bitter with the whole thing and have my roommates successfully playing the game in front of me just exasperates those feelings.

If, as you have confessed in another thread, your poor PC has only a P4 in it, no matter that it's a P4D, then this game has not ever "played well" on that machine, since it cannot do so on such an obsolete and ancient CPU.

My PC is a game computer with Windows7 and all necessary system requirements for this game. Just installed Dragon Age II as required. However when I push the "Play" button, nothing happens.
The only thing that appears, is a notice "Release Date Check". A download bar quickly fills up and then nothing... Anyone, please advise what I should! Please help, Thanks

When you are ready to assist the gamers in here with adequate information, then maybe someone can make a suggestion:

1.  Uninstall DA2.
2.  Install DA2.
3.  Patch DA2 to version 1.02.
4.  Launch the game.

The patch removes the release date check entirely.  Make sure that you don't launch before patching.

Bioware employees only follow a few very specific message threads here, although while this one was pinned, it was part of those few. This is a Self-Help tech discussion forum. Official support is on the EA Help pages. Google will find all of the "51" errors for you. Just add site:social.bioware.com at the end.

Hans, someone reported that resetting their BIOS settings to default fixed it. I haven't tried, but you could see if that works?

I have been leery of uninstall/reinstalling because my version of DA2 is digital, and in Australia we have download limits. :/ Don't want to use my monthly quota just to find out it didn't work (again).

We're sorry, an error has occurred

There is a problem with your game's setup.  Please reinstall your game

Any fix for this yet? Tried reinstall 3 times, run as Administrator, directx 9, pretty much all suggestions here.

If you want the Gamers here to offer suggestions, you'll need to expand that report quite a bit. Look here:

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/300/index/6423406

Also, regarding the minimum Radeon:

Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB (should be 2600 XT or X1800 GTO)

www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php

Your card is lacking when comparing the system memory bandwidth.

I am running a Windows 7 and have a NVIDIA Ge 9800 GT and the game doesn't load half the time. If it does load, it doesn't connect to EA and if it does connect, my last save doesn't load. The game is just completely f'ed up. I don't know what is so hard about making a game work but Bioware and EA are sucking!

EV#52973 – Some are getting a AWC.dll error
Early
reports suggested that this was due to an outdated version of the
Windows .NET Framework, but we no longer believe that to be the case.
Instead, we now believe it to be related to Admin accounts. Some users
are reporting that the issue is resolved by creating a new user with
Admin rights in the Users control panel, then logging under that account
to install and validate the game. After having done that, they were
able to log back into their regular account to play the game.[/list]t

this does not work did exactly what you said to and got AWC.dll error on the new user admin user as i did with my original lol this game is still a $60.00 cup holder for me

We've got a fix for this in the next patch. Unfortunately there were several different issues causing this awc.dll to display as having an error but we believe we've got them all.

It's finished, but needs the final go-ahead from EA.Could be next week, could be longer.
