This is the official thread for any in-game issues that are preventing you from finishing the prologue and REACHING KIRKWALL. If you're experiencing such an issue or have a solution to such an issue, please post and discuss it here.

UPDATE - March 11, 11:15 pm MST

Good news: The "unable to save/load" and "infinite load on entering Kirkwall" issues are both addressed by the 1.01 BETA patch, as are any issues where the game requests an unexpected drive.

yup in a save loop so once the prologue ends and you goto kirkwall it just loads forever. Save loop of death.

Game works fine on my Dual Core system but on my old Single Core the game cannot auto save, save, or load. Single Core system has a 64 bit processor just not multi core

Same save loop. Decided I'd just play without saving so paused, turned off monitor, and went to sleep. Came back and it was gone :*(

I love how the other bug threads have been around for like, 10 minutes or 20 minutes and have one or no replies, and this one has been up for about the same time and already has more replies than both.

Loop here as well. Cannot save/load and I get the never ending loading screen after the prologue.

My specs are:

Processor: Intel® Pentium® D CPU 2.80GHz
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ w/ 1gb of ram
Driver Version: 267.24
OS: Windows 7 64bit
Direct X: DirectX 11

I too was denied access to Kirkwall. What's the deal with that city, more exclusive than Sodom.

For those stuck in a save loop have you tried disabling the auto save? By doing so I was able to get past it. I realize that might not work for everyone but it is worth a shot at least.

I'm yet another victim of the single core save loop. Crossing my fingers for a fast fix.

You can keep playing but you can't save.
So if something should happen ie crash, freeze, other glitch etc
You loose all your game time and feel disheartened.

ya its works but ur unable to save, and if you do save its a never ending loop and if u go to a loading screen your done playing.

Yea, it gives me the save loop and doesn't go to kirkwall. But when i turn autosave off and don't try to save, i can get to the gate, then i quit because i couldn't save and only want to have to replay the intro for the 20th time, not the whole first section

Same issue. We also get the little swirly saving icon on our screens early in the game, and it never goes away. The 'save' option is grey.
Some of us have tried animal sacrifice, apparently, but nothing works.

Turning off auto save works...but I die a little inside unable to save my progress.
