During combat the music will kick in and cut out intermittently, leaving the kind of sound you'd hear for a moment before an epic scene starts, you know that kind of high-pitched-intense-sounding-violiny.. thing.. but instead of continuing on to play the music for the appropriate moment, this damn sound stays constant.

Anyone else having this issue?

I have the same issues, unfortunately I still have them after turning on Force Stereo. All my drivers are up to date as well, hopefully there is a solution

Having that issue too.
Sometimes the battle music commences after some time, but then suddenly stops and falls back to the sound the OP described.
Battle music is completly messed imho...

anyone also have soft voice problems that will intermittently become loud then soft again? So much so that you havta turn the sound up and then get blown out of your seat when music or sound effects kick in? Or is this another problem in another topic?

Same issue here. The worst part is, I'm kind of getting used to it. Not good.

Those affected by this, have you attempted to turn ForceStereo on as suggested above? I'm filing a bug on this but it may just be a user settings issue.

Got ForceStereo on and still getting this. As mentioned above the combat music will occationally come on in the last few seconds of a combat, though this is happening maybe 1 out of 50 times.

I Don't get this bug as often if I don't use ForceStereo, however if I don't the sound is almost too low to hear unless I put my volume up to max.

I get the exact same thing as Gravemaskin. I've tried with force stereo on and off but get the same problem each time.

In the video that was posted it is a game feature, when you are alone and you're hp is low I think I even had heart beat when I was about to die.

Tried with and without ForceStereo and no differences. In the demo I don't remember having this problem.

Why would one "Force Stereo" on a 5.1 surround setup?

Same problem here. Generally the duration of combat is filled with the kind of high pitched 'buzzing' 'music' and will periodically have actual combat music. If the real combat does start it will continually reset throughout the battle. Drivers are all up to date, system sound is set to stereo by default, have tried with and without 'force stereo' on without improvement.
