Does it even matter who you'll take with you?

Varric? I thought about taking him, but since Merrill asked in a cute way I took her instead. I also thought hard and long on bringing Isabela with me. Does anything interesting happen with her?

They mentioned in the dialog right before the party selection screen comes up things that implied choosing certain people matter.

I don't want this to be another Deep Roads where I didn't bring Anders and Bethany died.

Care to share who you brought? Minor spoilers are fine but I don't want you to spoil the whole Fade quest.

Who doesn't bring a Grey Warden to the Deep Roads when possible?

Basically, Sebastian won't go, Anders shows his other half, and everyone else will betray you. I think. I dunno, if you have high enough friendship/rivalry they *might* not, but I don't know if anyone's tested that yet.

Afterwards you get a conversation with anyone that betrayed you and you can swing the conversation either for a nice rivalry bump or a nice friendship bump, depending on your inclination.

I had fenris, anders n isabela. Fenris and Isabela turn on you, but Isabela has a really funny line, so worth bringing her for that line

I pissed off aveline by accepting the bargain of power with the demon. Anybody know what that does exactly? and what the Knowledge/magic option would provide?

... When I first hit hit the Pride demon, I got oneshot by Fenris using Whirlwind... It was an instant game over...

I first took Merril, Anders and Aveline into the Fade. I then swapped Merril with Isabella just to see what happens.

Aveline's betrayal I can understand, since she wanted her husband back.
But Isabella?! she sold me out for a boat!

Can anyone tell me what happens if you take Varric?

I regret bringing Merril because i got 15 rivaly when she turned on me and i only got 10 friendship back when accepting her appology.

After getting turned on by Aveline (I could have sworn Aveline was full friend by then) and Fenris (Like Valdorick said I kept getting one shotted by him) I just went into the Fade by myself to get it over with.

edited to add -> after trial and error and friend-slaying I looked it up in the guide, which funnily enough suggests taking Sebastian as he's uncorruptable... think that is a typo in the book or another Sebastian-glitch which prevents him from being selectable?

I didn't evewn think of doing it solo or with just Anders.  I took, him, Verrick, Merrill my first time and won't being Mer next time cause I'm trying to woe her.  I was wondering what point exchange happens with the rest on betrayel.  Verrick on my secound play through is allready locked in freindly so might bring him with Anders.  Any one caught the exact point exchange for Fenris?  I might bring Isa too, just to get the boat line...lol since I allready sleep with her, but don't want a relationship.

The following party members will betray Hawke when tempted by Desire Demon.

Aveline - Tempted by getting back her deceased husband, Ser Wesley.
Isabela - Tempted by the offer of a new ship and crew.

The following party members will betray Hawke when tempted by Pride Demon.

Fenris - Tempted by being given power enough to be an equal to the Tevinter mages.
Merrill - Tempted by the offer of power enough to save and protect her people.
Varric - Tempted by the offer of power to get back at his brother, Bartrand, for his betrayal in the Deep Roads.

Anders - Justice takes over from the start, so he is not tempted by any demons.
