Has anyone been unable to get Isabella because she won't follow you to the chantry and without her you can't enter the chantry at night to get her as a playable character? She has become immobile and there is no way for her to move which is stopping the quest to finish. I am able to perform other quests and I can go to different areas. If you are having a similar problem or you have a solution please post.

I am having the same problem, it seems to be because I picked up the letter too quickly or something.

Yep, I can't enter chantry now. Isabela stands by the door, there's a quest icon on the chantry door, but I cannot do anything. Tried restarting the game, reloading.. no result.

And no, I won't restart the game because of this.
Bioware please fix this asap.

Went through the same problem. I think it was because I picked up the letter too quickly.. I just had to load up a save from before and do it over again, making sure to be careful and wait to pick up the letter until Isabella was done talking and everything.

Reload. Otherwise, you'll just have to keep going without her. And unfortunately, you can't make Bioware give you an instapatch. Go back to another save or continue on.

It glitches if you dont follow her directly to the chantry. If you go out of the area, like in the opposite direction of her - then come back to her and follow her to the chantry, it will not let you open the doors.

After she glitches you cannot talk to her OR go into the chantry. You have to relaod a save before you pick up the letter. Terrible glitch considering spamming the X button to kill enemies is what causes you to pick up the letter immediately. If they had implemented auto attack, this wouldn't have happened for anyone that uses auto attack.

I am experiencing the glitch and I thought if i just did some more quests and then reloaded it would be ok. That however did not fix the problem and i now have no save data before the glitch occured. Does anyone know of any patches I can download. Ive done every quest but that one now.

Ughhhh. This happened to me. I hope that bioware will fix this. And, is Isabela a companion required for the campaign to progress? Because, that would be really lame.

Reload and don't loot the bodies until she tells you to.

I had same issue, had to reload and NOT pick up the letter til she was done chatting, Killed the mobs so quickly it actually took a while before she began talking, so I thought mb it was glitched again.

So this is effecting a huge number of people yet Bioware won't even acknowledge that it's happening. Looks like my purchasing of Bioware games has come to an end, not that they were worth the purchase to begin with.

This has been patched a long time ago.

This problem got fixed, I think in the 1.03 patch for pc and the 1.02 patch for the consoles.

I'm sorry, it has not been fixed, just happened to me the first time tonight 09/20/11 (fighting using the attack button, spamming it and BAM!) Now I can't progress with this and i'm going to have to go back to year one.... so what are you going to give me for wasting my time on something that you should have fixed Bioware (enough people are reporting it)? If I screw up something at work for someone, I have to make it worth the time and trouble for my customers...

1. Be smart enough to save more often.

2. You can load at the start of the cut scene where you meet bela. It's an Auto-save. Which the game does often, so long as you allow it to. If you're stuck, go to the menu (esc) and load the last auto-save. Then, just wait for isabela to tell you to loot the bodies, which she says as soon as combat ends.

Edit: What do you mean you're going to have to go back to year one? This quest IS in year one. Its fairly early in, at that. So unless you litterally put off recruiting her/this quest till the end of your Act 1, then you're not going that far back.

I'm getting a similar problem. I just started the quest. Roamed around the area, killed all the groups of enemies that came. Collected all the dropped items. but Isabella doesn't move from the entrance area. She just stands pretty. What's the case here ?

If you can't get inside the Chantry, use the console. I was recently stuck too and used this console hack that I found on this thread:

I had this issue last week it fixes it self if u reload a save from b4 u start the quest
