Isabela's talisman isn't showing up in the disused passage u sure that's where it is?

Hmmm, odd the book does not say weather its day or night that you should look for it but seeing as you can only get into the passage at night. (as far as I know) Did you check the shop in there? It only says it in there not where exactly... And I can find a map of the area in the guide so I can't help you much more then that... :?

It's not in the shop. It's in a crate or chest or some sort of container on a platform near the zone exit (the one not near the shop).

FENRIS ROMANCE:wub:<3
To see a romance with Fenris through to its conclusion, you must satisfy the following requirements.

1: Reach 50% friendship or rivalry, then flirt with Fenris during the Questioning Beliefs mid-stage relationship conversation. If the friendship or rivalry level remains at least 50% Fenris will subsequently visit the Hawke Estate if you return at night. Flirt with him to trigger the romance. The next step is to ask him to move in.

2: Complete remaining companion quest and dialogues, give him both gifts, reach 100% friendship or rivalry, then complete the Questioning Beliefs final-stage relationship conversation before the start of The Last Straw.

3: If you are on the rivalry path, you must ally yourself with the templars. If you are on the friendship path, you can convince Fenris to stay if you choose to support the mages. Speak with him at the Gallows Prison or Gallows Courtyard in The Last Straw to complete the romance.

Are you sure about this with Fenris?  Because I saw a series of YouTube videos of a Fenris rival romance that ended with Fenris helping you side with the mages (and all the other mushy goodness that occurs in that scene).  I've also read in various places that a maxed rival Fenris will still fight with you against the templars at the end.  Just want to check, since I tend to play mage, which obviously leads to Fenris not liking me as much.

Its from the book; if you can prove it wrong then please do because I'M having hard time getting him to be friends with me... :crying:

The guide book got it wrong. 100% Rivalry Fenris will side with Hawke in defending the mages. I tested it myself and recorded the footage (It's around 100 megs, so it can be a slow download).

Playing a Mage Hawke, I feel it's sweeter here than compared to siding with the Templars :)

At 100% rivlary with Fenris, he stayed with me (as a mage) when I sided with the mages. He didn't even leave my party so there was no need for me to convince him to come back. However, my romance was with Anders.

It doesn't make sense for Fenris to stay with you as a rival (without the romance) and then, NOT stay with you if you're in a rivalmance. I hope the guide book is wrong because I really don't want to side with templars especially since I am playing as a mage again.  :( (Perhaps, it depends on the class?)

For my third playthrough, I am having a rivalmance with Fenris and I am currently at the middle of Act 2. So, I look forward to seeing whether it is possible to keep Fenris by the end of the game. I will post the result in a day or two.

So love interests fight if you show instrest in two or more then? This would great news alot of people have been wondering this, including myself. Yes that would be heplful as to when Anders questions.

I wouldn't say 'fight'...more of a brief questioning of your relationship. In this case at least.

Anyway, if you're romancing Fenris, Anders will confront you about it in Act III on his quest 'Justice'. It's triggered by entering a sewer transition point in Darktown. Fenris does not have to be present for Anders to bring it up, but he will comment if he's there.

I rivalmanced Fenris with my mage Hawke, sided with the mages and he stayed - no convincing needed. I had 100% rivalry and all of his personal quests finished.

I think the second point from the Fenris romance guide is also not true:

"2: Complete remaining companion quest and dialogues, give him both gifts, reach 100% friendship or rivalry, then complete the Questioning Beliefs final-stage relationship conversation before the start of The Last Straw."

I never found the first gift, and was still able to complete the rivalmance.

Although I completed the romance with Merrill and sent Isabela away with the Arishok, at the end it still said that my character ran off with Isabela. Which I'm not too happy about haha

Fenris Romance/Triangle?

Hey guys, I have a question in case anyone has experienced this. I started a Fenris rivalry romance w/ female mage Hawke, did the deed, he ran off, and he's wearing the armband. Just now, I went to do the "Questioning Beliefs" for Anders, who is at 100% rivalry, and he wants to start up a relationship.

Can you have a triangle? If I do anything with Anders will Fenris reconcile with me in Act III or no? Or will there just be a jealousy thing and an ultimate choice like how we had to do in DA:O?

So I've run afoul of what I understand to be a pretty common glitch: I'm romancing Merrill and at the beginning of Act 3 I got the dialog that you're supposed to get when her companion quest is done (I'll avoid talking about it in specifics cause it's pretty spoilery) but I hadn't actually done the quest yet. Now I have, and of course that dialog isn't triggering. Can I still pursue the romance, or am I out of luck?

Edit: Nevermind! I popped the Romance achievement at the very least, it seems like things worked themselves out.

Is it possible to switch romances? I slept with Isabela at the beginning of Act 2, then slept with Merrill and asked her to move in with me. Right after that, though, I went to the Hanged Man, which initiated a conversation with Isabela about my relationship with Merrill. I told Isabela that she was the only girl for me.

I want to switch over to Isabela now. I just finished to Catch a Thief and I'm confident she'll come back. When she does, would it be possible for me to ditch Merrill for Isabela?

Like aimo_ahmed and Selidor, I completed my rivalmance with Fenris (as a mage) and sided with the mages. He never left me once and in Varric's epilogue it said Fenris stayed. :)  So obviously, the guide book really did get it wrong.

LadyBri, I experienced something similar except I was in a rivalmance with Fenris and had Anders as a friend. I flirted with Anders once in Act 1 and it showed up in Act 3. I used the broken heart dialogue symbol to end whatever "we had." Then during the "Justice" quest, he stopped me to talk about Fenris and said something about a wild dog being more of a man than Fenris. After I stood up for Fenris, Anders and Fenris had a few angry words with each other before moving on with the quest. So, once that scene was over, I think it was the "official" end to a possible romance with Anders. However, there was an option for me to tell Anders that I wasn't with Fenris anymore...even though I already made up with him at that point. I am guessing it is possible to try to romance Anders after that dialogue choice.

As far as I am aware, a "ultimate choice" scene with the romance characters confronting each other or you doesn't happen. (I swear I thought one of the devs said that it could happen.) Although Anders confronted me about Fenris, we were never in a romance to begin with. I believe I was confronted because I was playing as a mage, proved to be a mage ally (100% friend) and I was in a rivalmance with someone who didn't like mages. Or maybe it happens no matter the class or romance option you picked, but the fact you flirted with him. Even if it was one time, like my case.

I played as a rogue, romanced Anders and sided with the mages every chance. I did flirt with Fenris at the beginning before I recruited Anders...I did not get the Anders confrontation about Fenris at all...so it isn't something that happens no matter what...there must be something more than just flirting with Fenris that triggers it.

Duude! I have the Special ed. Guide book and it seems very rushed. Either it's missing so much information when it comes to compainion chacaters and questing that it's almost unusable or It's put together so poorly and sporadiaclly that you have to look at as 2-4 different sections of the book at once to do anything from getting the romance you want to the armor sets you want. I ended up looking things up online a few times because I just couldn't find the right information in the book.

Yep, join the club... I'm using it for the maps and quest list basicly... The writter was very rushed indeed.

No worries, his first personally quest shows up in act 2 and the second in act 3.

At the start of Act 2 you will will be able to speak with Fenris, after this if you take Fenris with you to the Free Marches, you will be amushed this is the start of "Bitter Pill" once you leave you see a new area open up, this is where the rest of the quest is. You have the option to not do the quest right away, you will be ambushed a second time and Fenris will state "Either we go or I go." If you still do not go he will leave permently. If you remove Fenris from your party and still don't do his quest; he will confront you and leave permently.

His second quest can be start moments after Act 3, go to his house and speak with him, if you completed "Bitter Pill" his quest will start up right away. Also note that the book says he must be in your party when you go to visit him. If it does not start right away try to boost his rival/friend % by giving a gift.

Ah what about it? By the way, its wrong, you don't have to flirt with him every chance you get. I actully found you get 10% Friendly rather then 5% Friendly during his escape story if you don't flirt with.

Guide book says nothing about outfit changes; so sadly I have no clue when or what changes about the outfit. I'm actully trying to find this out for myself. If you or any one else finds this info out please do tell so that I can add it to the first post...

I'm really worried that I might have screwed up my rival-romance with Fenris. I'm somewhere in the middle of Act 2 and at 50% rivalry, and I've also done "The Bitter Pill". After that I got a conversation where he apologized and in which I got some flirty options that he said he might think about, but ever since I haven't been able to even talk to him. I can't give him the gift I still have for him and even though I'm taking him with me on my pro-mage missions he won't gain any more rivalry.

Instead, Isabela appeared at my estate for a one-night-stand which I said was "fun" but no more, because I feared that might end my blooming rival-romance with Fen, if it's not dead yet.. :P

What about gifts you give to people in a rivalry setting? Do they raise rivalry as well? Or friendship? Or does it depend on the options you choose when handing them over? And I hope there are still enough options to max out rivalry with Fen since he doesn't seem to gain any anymore (nor friendship). :x

Aaaaaaahhh I'm so impatient >.<

Since you're already in Act 3, I doubt she is getting a new outfit. Or maybe you missed something to complete the romance?

Fenris doesn't get a new outfit after you romance him. He only adds a red scarf to his wrist. So Isabela might not receive a new outfit or it might be a slight change. However, these are also the two LI characters that can't move into your home.

After I romanced Merrill and Anders (seperate playthroughs obviously), they both had new outfits by the beginning of Act 3 but Anders changes his outfit whether you're romancing him or not.
