Anyway, I think I may have messed up Isabela. I chose the bottom right option that I wasn't going to bring feelings into it.

Oh, try going to the Estate at night, after the first main quest in the mansion.

 I think they are referring to Sebastian himself as the "Starkhaven exile"

Are you playing a Female Hawke? You can flirt with Merrill as Marian Hawke, but there's no romance.

So, I'm on Act 2. 50% rivalry path with Anders romance. 









**************SPOILERS*****************

Ok well Anders asked me if he could move in, says he loves me, I said "I'm hungry", awesome cutscene kiss happens, we're kinda happy, but I'm so far still stuck at 50% rivalry. Great. 

His love scenes were reaaaally romantic/angsty. I don't know if people in the friendship path get this but the scene I got with the first kiss was just awesome. When LH goes talk to him after the incident with Vengeance he says he's writing a manifesto in which he wishes to convince people like LH that the Circle is not the answer for mages and templars don't have the right to rule mages. Anyway, I'm playing the devil's advocate and he's obviously frustrated at LH.....reads a part of what he wrote.....God is so bittersweet cuz he looks like he's trying really hard to convince me but is in love. What a contradiction.....this scene broke my heart....so he says, "I don't know if I want to kiss your or kill you. I hate people like you. But for the last three years I can't stop thinking about you....I wake up aching for you...blah blah...I love you...." It's so sweet but he looks frustrated then the hot kiss happens. Later he wants to drop by the mansion and sexyness insues. It was actually more sweet than anything but everything felt so angsty. I'm not helping since I'm romancing him on the rivalry path.
I was really impressed at how he behaved during the whole thing. He's obviously madly in love with Lady Hawke but doesn't agree with her kind of thinking but he might seem to understand where she comes from. In fact he tells her that even if she is the only person he can convince he'll do it no matter what, which broke my pixel heart even more. He's just too sweet but again, FULL of angst. So he moves in with LH and by the fireplace I found some burned pages from his manifesto which I don't know exactly what it means?

Did he give up about wanting to kill templars and free mages or did he give up on Lady Hawke.....*sigh* I don't regret the rivalry path but it's very difficult, specially when you want to support him, but like my Lady Hawke told him in game, she doesn't want to support him hurting himself by giving into Justice/Vengeance. She actually said what my whole reasoning to do the rivalry path with him was. So far I have like 20hrs into the game. I'm trying to get my rivalry points higher since I believe I need that for Act 3 right? I will side with the mages at the end but I will have to disagree with him all the way until the big time comes.

Anyway I'm kinda obsessed with that romance but I don't know if there's a chance he'll act any differently as a consequence of the rivalry path. Just wanted to share with y'all since I know there aren't many people romancing him on the rivalry path. We'll see what happens but I don't foresee anything good. I feel so bad for Anders, I kind of miss the old one but I like this mess Bioware gave us in DA2 too.

I apologize for the last post, I shouldn't have assumed.

I just read the one thread about outfit changes and the person who started has a pick of Merrill in her new outfit she only gets when you do romance her is playing a female Hawke.

For now, I'll just continue to play the game and hopefully the romance will be triggered at some point (since I just started act 2, it may take a while). Just if anyone could give me a hint as to whether or not I'm doing something wrong, that'd be great .

I'm all about Fenris right now so I'm wondering if I'm supposed to wait to sleep with him until I've given *both* gifts? I "accidentally" slept with him before giving him any gifts since he was at my house and then he freaked about seeing flashes of his former life and he left me sitting there. I was scared that I'd ruined the romance so I went to a previous save and gave him the book. So, should I wait until I've given him the second gift from the next act before getting "intimate"?

Did you get a quest to talk to Merrill at the beginning of Act 2? I am also trying to romance Merrill, all my other companions have quests to go talk to them. Not Merrill though >_<

Yeah, I got quests to talk to all the party members at the beginning of act 2...Merrill just asked about Bethany and that was it  >.<   All the others flirted with Hawke and there was a heart icon in every conversation, just not in Merrill's

It's a real shame that Aveline isn't romancable. I personally find her the most appealing of the female party members.

It has to be possible, there are youtube videos of the romance being completed. But it seems, looking at other threads, that it is glitchy on PC

What the hell? Where'd that marriage proposition of yours go? :/ I think I might've messed up, or at least I hope I did because that would be very lazy writing and a weird retcon.

Hrm I won't that last bit in there {the bit in these} I didn't know at the time that he calls himself the Starkhaven exile. I'll fix that so as to not to confuse anyone anymore.

So Anders moved in with me heh.

I was trying to flirt/have some fun with all of my party members, Isabela had her way with me then Anders. And then Anders moved in. Now I just started what I believe is the 3rd act, but I really want my 'final' romance for my character to be Isabela do I have to go back and replay it all or can I push on and turn it around?

From what I've seen a main quest does open up more quest but then again. I just went into darktown and the quest to talk to Anders pop up. So maybe try walking into her home base would trigger it or just do a main quest...

Book isn't too infroming when it comes to this but I'm betting they will make you choose between them soon.

Is there jealousy romance wise in DA2 like there was in Origins? My Lady Hawke slept with Fenris and Anders is after her. I can lie to him... I don't know what to do! I think I missed Fenris moving in at this point, I'm almost done with Act 2. Anyone have any ideas?
