I know the second item for Fenris is during the 3rd Act, but I am a bit paranoid to continue on with the main plot without having it. Is it REALLY further into Act 3? Anyone know when exactly I should be expecting?

Not that I expect this relationship to complete itself. It took me till Act 3 to get Fenris into bed.

Wait, you didn't sleep with him until Act 3? Usually you do it in Act 2, I wonder if there is another romance scene.

And the gift is in the Best Served Cold quest. It's one of the last main quests.

Oh I got the typical first kiss and then bed. He left me like normally. He wears his red little scarf too. Some party dialogue about leaving me was the hardest thing he had to do.

Besides the gift giving, is there still chance of gaining Rivalry with him? I am pretty damn close to maxing it out.

I think it is supposed to be some kind of keepsake of the relationship. He obviously still wants it but is still holding back because of his past.

And that just makes me want to max Rivalry more.

Just as a side note, the "Flirt with the Rivaini" line refers to Isabele.  She's a Rivaini.  You don't have to flirt with someone else to get her to notice you; just flirt with her when you get the chance.  Just wanted to make that clear for anyone else like me who's reading this for the first time.

Sorta mad about that too act 3 for me (about to start Loose Ends (or was it "On the Loose"? O_o) and with his past outta his way, he and my mage are, ya know, together just...not moved in argh!

I believe the red scarf shows his armor upgrades. I tried all of the dialogue options to see if there is a moving in one...but have yet to find it for Fenris. Any suggestions?

Funny thing. The game expects you to finish relationships in Act 2. I bedded Fenris in Act 3 and when I got him maxed rivalry, we shared our getting back together scene. The one where he talks about three years ago. Which is Act 2.

Funny how I beat Bioware's expectations. Though I didn't get the achievement for romancing him. Or are romances officially made at the end of the game? For the sake of getting his Rivalry up, I've been saying mages are cool. Is there a final choice near the end? Cause, I can totally side with the templars. Anders is maxed so he won't be mad.

Well, that is what patches are for. Still, I managed to pull off a Romance in the final Act. I at least got Fenris Rivalmanced. Next game, gonna Friendmance his ass.

Re: Steelcry's Isabela concern ~ (sorry, my phone isn't letting me quote atm) ~ when it says flirt with the Rivaini, it's another way of saying flirt with Isabela b/c she is from Rivain. Like calling Anders "the ferelden". It's the same with Sebastian ~ /he/ is he Starkhaven exile, so he is the only one you're supposed to flirt with.

you do not have to work your way to rival with Merill to get that romance outcome. I had her very high friend and she had been making comments about liking me romantically in passive part dialogue for several levels.

Ultimately, when I told her that I would not allow her to fix the mirror, then she dumped +125 rival on that single decision, then met me at my home for the romance-culmination dialogue. So if you are choosing mages for your decisions, then you needn't worry over your current status with her, because that one decision will push you to full rival regardless of current rep I think. I am unsure whether choosing the other way will give auto full friend though. I did not test that.

I found burned pages of his manifesto in my fireplace and Anders hasn't moved in with me yet. On a somewhat unrelated note, I'm looking forward to them fixing the Examine bug on the bed, which shows a duplicate of his unburned manifesto notes that were on the desk.

mission with that elven boy, where you go into the fade to get him out of his nightmare and I took Merrill, because she asked me to (!!) and still I got +10 on rivalry -.- she immediately turned on me in the fade and then, I got a side quest after the mission, in which she apologized in 2 sentences and then got +15 on friendship again, but still, no flirty option *gaah*

I was fiddling around with this transition point for awhile because I wanted either her or Anders with me in the Fade. I finally figured out that I was racking up rival points because of the conversation aside with the Keeper; the mages are angry if you agree to Tranquilize the boy (-5/10), but happy if you pick the second option (+5 I think).

I didn't play Merrill past the first room since I needed friend points with Anders more, so can't comment on the rest. Though I don't think I was able to flirt with her until gifts.
