3. I'm only on act two and starting to feel game fatigue since act two is the same as act one, but with different quests. Aren't diverse environments important in a fantasy setting?

About nine hours in and I would give it a solid 4.5/5 so far. My only complaints is that I wish I could equip my party members with some of the armor and weapons that I pick up, which I cannot use. Also, the recycled caves, but this really has not bothered me. Just some variation would have been nice.

These issues have in no way detracted from the game for me, though. On the whole, the game has more than delivered for me. I actually think it is their best game since Knights of the Old Republic and I am loving it more with every hour that passes. I will be replaying this one many times.

Played for like 20 hours so far on PC. Two concurrent playthroughs. 4.5/5. The things I miss, like the isometric camera and second weapon slots, are relatively minor. The wave-based combat was irritating at first, but now that I'm used to it, it's fine.

Pretty good game, but there's room for improvement. A good deal of improvement in some areas.

3.5-4 out of 5 so far.  I wouldn't rate it higher than a 4 and currently I see it extremely hard to go below a 3.5.  It's an enjoyable game, but it's not great.

As a comparison, I rate DAO with a 4/5 and DAO: Awakenings with a 3.5/5.

2/5. Ruined everything I loved about Origins. If it weren't for the world and story I wouldn't even be playing this game.

2/5

It would be 3 if I didn't play Gemini Rue before.

Its telling a lot when AAA multi million budget game, made by a huge studio and written by a professional writer has worse plot, characters, ambiance and gameplay than indie adveture game written in AGS running at sub par resolution.

About 9 hours in. Give it a 3.9 out of 5.

Seeing a lot of the same maps over and over is kinda sad. The amount of glitches and bugs also kills the experience for me. Its a good game but not dragon age origins good.

A solid 4 verging on 4.5. I love the story-telling aspect of it that just wouldn't be possible if you got to pick your race, origin, etc. I love the fully voiced Hawke. I like the changes to combat, much more visceral. Main downside so far is the repeated cave interiors.

I give it a 5. There are more positives that outweight the negatives.

If not for the lack of dialogue, I'd give this game a 4.8 (96) but I can't get over the small number of times you can talk to companions compared to DAO Posted Image
Still, very good game, so far I'm enjoying it a lot. 4.6 (92). Posted Image

This has to be the most idiotic comment I have seen so far. As a game touted as a sequal to DA:O where DA:O was in turn marketed as the "Spiritual Sequal to Baldurs Gate" the comparisons are more than justified. If this was Kirkwall: Rise of the Champion then your comment may hold water but they slaped the Dragon Age name and lore on it and thus the only thing it CAN be compaired to is Origins, its predecessor.

This is not a seqal game, it is a cash cow made purely to capitalize on the success of the Dragon Age franchise. Its $$ over fans in true EA tradition. EA games almost never fail to earn, not because they are good but because they know THEIR target audience, and that is not us, the people who hate this game and its stupid changes. So, is it a good game for some? Maybe, is it good for the people who have been Bioware fans since the earliest days? For most of us, hell no.

1/5 stands

Too bad Bioware pretty much admitted all of those things (focus on consoles, flashy combat, dumbed down gameplay etc). So whoever bought this expecting it to be a sequel to Origins is an idiot. Everyone was warned the game was going to be exactly like this way before release.

Oh and I give is 2/5 so far. Would be 3/5, but I am forced to deduct a point for awful AI.

I would give it a 4.25 (and second the opinions that ratings on a scale of 1 to 5 just promote fractions ;) ).

I tallied the votes so far as best I could, adjusting for values above and below the scale.  Disclaimer: the numbers provided are only as accurate as I could manage given the inconsistency of how people were voting so don't shoot me :).  The average right now is about 3.58, with 83% of the votes being generally postive, 4% neutral and 11% negative.  Interesting stats considering how much ****ing has been floating around these forums.

The only question I have now is should Bioware be happy with the majority of people beeing somewhat satisfied.  I think they could have done a lot better.
