First time I played I left her behind.  I really didn't want to, she'd been sort of a standard adventurer along with myself, Varric and Aveline.  But I decided that Leandra was right.  After loosing Carver it was just a bit too risky to have both living Hawkespawn tearing around the Deep Roads.  So home she stayed and got taken to the Circle.

I avoided her dying by accidentally reading a spoiler in the Dragon Age Wikia page.

I haven't done a full play-through with her as a Warden, but I have to admit I got a little annoyed with her getting icky with me for her life being tough with the Wardens.  Which, in all honesty, I think is good characterization after having played DA:O and realizing how tough the Wardens have it.  Her holding her lot against her older brother, may not be fair, but it's somewhat realistic.

haha true. Also I'm an idiot. Seriously, talk about not taking a giant hint ... hmm that's odd, why would mother come all this way to warn me... Not to mention Varric told Merridth that the "Champion of Kirkwall would never have brought his sister if he knew what was down there".  Should have reloaded right there! <shakes head>

 This is bioware wrost idea. Make the best character in the game than kill them off or you lose them. After that happened i quit the game. I loved the game untill that happened.

Why didn't you just replay the game and just not take her to the Deep Roads?

Of course you don't have to take her on the expedition but if you don't that creates other problems. I was not a fan of the way Hawke's siblings were dealt with in the game.
