They need to give something out..They are aware that people are getting angry. And I know some who plan on returning the game.. So unless Bioware wants to lose some customers they better at least ake a statement, and soon.jenncircus wrote...
Has anyone heard anything yet? I too have a single core (less than 1year old) game runs great execpt for the SAVE LOOP OF DOOM. Except for the single core my others specs meet or are better than the min. requirements. As you can see from my last post EA games has no solution. I like so many folks played the demo and it worked great. I thought the original specs did not mention duo cores. I just want to play the damn game sooner rather than later.

This is a game breaking bug. How I see it, there's really nothing to be thankful for yet. And I suppose, there won't be for at least 2 weeks. It's their job to fix this mess. Honestly, I still can't grasp how this could have been overlooked in the fist place.SummerSolstice wrote...
Hey guys we should be thankful they are taking there time to make a fix for us single core users and mutil core users (that are stioll not able to fix there problem).

I'm just frustrated that I can't play. A quick post that says were still working on it would not take too much time.

I can't add to much new to the conversation, except for the fact that the people who are suffering from this should get some sort of reparation like many people have suggested. It's the least that the company can do for people who have stuck by it since Balder's Gate and though all their new games (I know *I* have been with it since KOTOR and my boyfriend (Skinny Chicken) has been though since the beginning.
Give us something Bioware and EA, please. And if it helps, here's our stats -- Processor - AMD Opteron 1.44 with a processor speed of 2.02g, 2 gig memory, with an N.Vidia GForce9600 GSO. So maybe one more dissapointed gamer might help push the fixing along.

In BioWares defense, the system requirements require a dual core processor (even though the initial systems specs included single core). So BioWare doesn't even NEED to patch this. They could just say forget you and do something else. Don't get me wrong most if not all BioWare games have bugs and are well known for them. I'm just glad that they are trying to fix this. It would be nice if they told us how far along they are or somthing.Immortal_Reiku wrote...
I think all of us that have wasted our time should get back 75 bucks if they dont want the game anymore that should cover the game and the gas it cost me to go get the game. I will never buy a bioware game again. In fact the only reason I bought this game was becuase I downloaded it, played it, and decided this is awesome I should go buy it. then BAM someone released a game that does not work
Yes they do NEED to patch it.. it said multi-core or equivalent! It didn't say multi-core only.
You people need to stop trying to play that card.

On one hand, we're LUCKY they're supporting single-core issues at all, considering the minimum specs call for multi-core processors. They would be within their rights to tell us we're SOL. On the other hand, they did start accepting pre-orders before the specs were made public, so many of us didn't know at the time we put our advance down that this would be an issue.
What's irritating me is that this is a STUPID problem. Not once in nearly two years of development did someone think, "Hmm, maybe we should try the game out on a single-core processor and see how it runs!" Seriously? I mean, this whole thing could have been avoided with just a modicum of foresight.
I know jack-all about programming, and the moment I heard what the problem was, it was just "Well, duh! OF EFFING COURSE it's going to be a problem if you build a game to save on one core while playing on the other, and then try to run it on a single-core processor.
The ironic thing is, the game is running beautifully for me, otherwise. Far better than DAO ever did. I'm about 24 hours into a no-save playthrough, and loving it. What a shame it's going to all go to waste if I crash or die.
Hopefully we'll get an update soon.

Hrm.. it's been a couple days since I played (due to the save issue), but I believe you get it in a free items chest in your area in Kirkwall. Did you check in there for it.. or are you trying to find it in your inventory at the intro?

It actually sickens me that people play that card. It's like I brought up in my first post and you brought up, that it said EQUIVALENT. Not "YOU MUST HAVE DUAL CORES" I think that the whole saving and playing on seperate cores was a baaad choice of programming. I do understand that it probably speeds up gameplay, but really, how many people actually have a dual core processor? Honestly, I just want us to be able to play our game without sitting on the fear that we will lose all our progress after a freak glitch, or without having to spend 150 bucks in upgrades.
I guess I'll just have to stick with the DarkSpore beta. -.-

"Mutlicore or equivalent" isn't equivalent to single core. The equivalent part is more directed to users who have custom build their computers. Single core may have processing power equivalent to it, but in no way is it equivalent to certain functions that multiple cores are capable of. So they techinally did not have to make a fix for us, but Bioware has always been a good company.
This isn't really Bioware's fault. EA forces developers to rush out games and cash in, which is also why DA2 has like 20 different DLC items.

And yeah, wish people would learn to have some patience.
If i were a developer, I'd take a 10 minute break for everytime someone complained about me being slow, but thats because I'm evil
Anyway, I have a lot of steam games to hold me down.
