Single core user here. Got that problem. Looks like I'll be checking for progress here frequently.

I must say though. They had the same issue that rendered Mass Effect 2 useless for single core users untill a patch came out. I would _think_ we learn from our mistakes, no?

Well arch_Mage_jeremy what im saying is that the developers and programmers knew bout the save problem before the game came out but i do understand that they are working on a patch to clear that up but most ppl can understand me when its too repetitive and down right non enjoyable if you gotta start over every single time and patience is only so far for each individual, now i know each game that comes out always have some bugs but lets be realistic most ppl haven't had a problem like this in a while cause mostly the bugs be clipping, certain items cant be picked up, dialog change or simply the screen shows a different view, etc but the save/load is new to me

I guess ill hold my voice i was a little out of control there people do have their own patience level. They didnt know that it would show up in DA 2. They fix it in Mass Effect 2 is what i meant.

I've read the OP post many times over and I just realized that there isn't any mention of whether the fix is going to be for single core processors as well. Are people like me doomed to be unable to play a game I spent 65$ on just because I use a single core processor? The game runs perfectly fine for me, with the exception of this saving bug.

Like for ME2 there's gonna be a fix for us single core users, rest assured. The question is when it will come out.

Awful... to wait for such a long time and get nothing. Hope bioware will soon (I mean VERY soon) solve this problem for one core users. Otherwise I'm afraid they'll lose a lot of fans.

Apparently people aint paying any attention to the ones saying it will be fixed. They have fixed this issue before.

Well, first time I've preordered a game, guess I should have known better. Paid to have it this weekend and it doesn't work. Got the download version so can't even use it as a paper weight. Well all I can do is cross my fingers cause I don't know how to get a refund on a downloaded broken game.

I'm having the same problem on my single core machine...but I'm not surprised since I bought him for his looks rather than his content :) It's good to know, though, that a fix is coming.

we are all being held hostage. if this were any other product we all woyuld have returned it and gotten our money back. bioware knows there is nothing we can do plus they already have our money so they dont really care. to top it off the OFFICAL help from EA site that says in bold on the page that your problem will be responded to within 24 hours, has still not responded to me and i file a complaint the day the game came out. Im tired of waiting on something to work that i have already bought and paid for and im tired of trying to be understanding and patient. if this were any other proudct or business things like this would be unaccepable. Im getting back my money for my pre order mass effect 3 today. who needs another 65 dollor coaster or frisbee.

See I bought ME2 and played it on this same system with no single core problems and I got it at launch as well.

Don't be ridiculous. Of course Bioware cares about fixing the problem, shall I tell you why? Because not fixing it is bad for business. Every company's goal is to make as much money as possible. And it's hard to make money in the video game industry if you don't fix your game's problems. Not only do you get no repeat customers, but word of mouth spreads and you get a bad reputation.

Yes this game has a bug, but Bioware is going to fix it, they fixed the major bugs in all their other games, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same with this game. This is why I buy Bioware, yes their games tend to come out buggy, but they fix the bugs, unlike other companies I could mention (*cough* Bethesda *cough*).

the sad part is they had very similar issues with ME2 with single core users and the videos playing. took them almost 2 months to get that fixed........ if only the whole world worked like the video game industry we could prepay for all our services before hand then wait weeks for them to work right!!

People need to chill, the wonderful staff of Bioware have ALWAYS provided great games, and great support, ME2 had similar errors, it was all fixed (Even though Bioware had NO obligation to do so) the game runs FINE! Saving is an issue that they are working on, complaining wont fix a thing, I personally will send them baked goods this weekend to help them along (Assuming they are willing to eat food that mysteriously shows up at their tech department)

shiro just proved my point. everyone expects things like this to happen now. and sure they want repeat customers BUT THEY ALREADY HAVE YOUR MONEY! im glad they are working hard to fix this and other problems but does that make it ok? if they are going to take the full price for the game dont they have a responsibility to release a functional proudct? you wouldnt pay full price for a car that doesnt run. They know there is nothing we can do except wait for them to fix it cause once u open a game your screwed. if this was anything else but a video game i promise you just about every1 on this tread would be retuning this worthless paperweight

Dude we are talking about MILLIONS of lines of code! A car is actually far more simple than a video game believe it or not. The manufacturers already know how every part relates to the others. With a video game one typo is enough to screw the whole thing up, not to mention no one computer is exactly the same as any other just due to the fact that different people are using computers made by different companies and with different firmware, different drivers, different chipsets. PC video games are unpredictable, if you want a game that gets it right the first time, buy a console game, and even then don't hold your breath

xyeeman, chill.  BioWare stated, quite clearly, that the requirements were a duo core machine.  Those of us with single cores kinda broke the rule (I'll admit, I hadn't realized I had a single core machine until just now), and they are working to fix that error. Trust me, BioWare has not forgotten where they started - in their basement!  They know that it's fans like us - consumers and return customers - that keep them being able to continue to create these fantastic games, and they will not let us down.  I'm having a hard time seeing this as a 'bug'.

One thing i do remember about the ME2 single core issue thread was all the annoying people who kept making posts exactly like xyeeman's over and over again. You're not being held hostage, stop complaining and go return it, nothing is stopping you. Another thing is that this issue is NOTHING like the ME2 issue other than the fact that it is single-core related. If they didn't care, they wouldn't have even bothered to make this thread. So either stop complaining and just wait like everyone else or return product.

well i guess since its hard they should get a pass. its unreasonable of me to expect a proudct to work. bet they arnt waiting to add up all our money so they can make their release number look good. and if u really want to split hairs when the game first started taking pre orders in nov the min system req. did not include dual core as min

In their defense, they DID list the minimum specs with 2core processor.

2cores are not always better than one... my computer DOES meet the minimum requirements and proves it with performance.   Therefore I DO meet the minimum requirements by having one core.

It's like saying you must have an apple, and then not making the game work for oranges too.  They should have made it work for all fruit in the first place.  It doesn't matter if apples taste better..

Your constant whining is taking up space in a TECH HELP thread that some people are actaully looking for help in.

We all know that this shouldn't have happened and that the public deserves better but b*tching about it won't achieve anything... if you must continue take it somewhere people who want to fix the problem and not just vent don't have to sift through you crap.

So glad to find out I'm not the only one with this single core problem :D Thanks Bioware for looking into it, hope there will be a fix soon :)
