From what I know the sword Fadeshear is supposed to improve while Hawke levels up...it hasn't changed since I've gotten it and I've leveled up several times. How often is it supposed to "improve"?
Fadeshear stays the same?

it is not ever supposed to Improve. It is only a starter weapon. You can junk it like an hour into the game maybe even sooner. Gamestop kind of dropped the ball on that... LOL The sword you get from completeing the demo is better then Fadeshear...

When I went back to the Dragon Age 2 Bonus Items page to show you that Bioware said it themselves, apparently it's only the damage versus demons is improved.
