I pray to the Light that they release a toolset, because that'll be the first thing fixed.

The nose/bridge thing makes me want to vomit. I honestly have a hard time playing this game because of it.

Actually no, it has already been declared that the first thing that will be "Fixed" will be a mod to make everyone nude... so instead of fixing the Nose/Bridge problem you hate... we're just gonna strip them of their clothes.

That said, I think they could stand to be toned down a bit. I liked the skinny bodies, but the faces could be a bit more human. Fenris is a good example of what I think they should look like. He still has the elven facial structure, but he has a normal hairline, eyebrows, and his eyes aren't huge. He's handsome, but still obviously non-human.

After Zevran, the first elf whose face I must fix will be Jethann. There was no way in hell I could get behind the idea that that thing was supposed to be attractive. Ugh!

It was so bad that I actually held my hand up over the screen when Zevran made his appearance. That... thing... is not him and is the first thing I'm modding once the toolset is updated. Fenris is the only elf who I really consider attractive (I like Merrill but hers is more a personality issue than physical) and I think that's because he's the one who looks most human out of all the elves. Go figure.
Here's the easiest test you can perform (and you cannot use Fenris, Fenris' sister Varania or Merrill). Look at the first elf you see in the game and ask yourself, "Would I have sex with him/her." Do this five times.
If your answer is 3/5 or more yes: Congratulations. You could live contentedly in Thedas because you are a human and, as per game lore, you find elves attractive. You are who Bioware was trying to appeal to and they hit the mark.

Put me down in the "they look terrible" camp. I'm also not certain why the strong proponents of their new "alien" look insist that elves MUST be radically different from humans. In Thedas, there must be hundreds of thousands of elf-blooded humans (which might even include Alistair...) and from the WOG, the offspring of an elf and a human will always be human, which bears elven traits - yet you see not a single human with that oddly bridged nose, neck like a toothpick or wide-set bovine eyes. None - zero, zip, nada. This would seem to support the theory that humans and elves are supposed to look quite a bit alike, as you cannot tell elf-blooded humans from anyone else.
THIS. So true! Retconning the appearance of the Qunari is one thing, but this retcon goes against way too much pre-established canon for me to take without a fight!

aesthetically, elves are supposed to be pleasing/attractive to the eye - which is why they are coveted as servants and slaves by humans (moreso than other humans, even - elven slaves sell for more, etc). Nothing about their appearance is "pleasing" now, to me. Repulsive is more apt.
I don't understand why we couldn't have had something beautiful AND a bit alien at the same time (internet is full with images of beautiful elves, it's not impossible!). While I understand the desire to be original, the new appearence contradicts the lore for me (and is ruining my game btw).
...I'm praying that some clever modder will find the way to mod elfs into how they were before, soon...

According to Mr.Gaider the elven traits in such offsprings are very subtle if they show up at all -- they actually did excellent work regarding that with the boy in Alienage who's such cross-breed. You can notice tiny influence in the ear and eye shape, but other than that he looks human.Sresla wrote...

Agreed on the other point, though.

@ Avalla'ch: agreed, I downloaded a simple mod to revert her back to her old armor, well at first I reloaded an old save game and went with Isabela instead, but on my 2nd playthrough I reverted the armour back into the green one.

I don't love the new look either. The elves look too thin and fragile but worse have strange slumped posture. Poor Fenris looks bowed over at times.
If you were carrying around a humongous over-sized sword that weighs as much or more than you do you'd probably end up with a hunched back too.

But humour aside... yeah I keep telling him to stand up straight - he's not a slave any more and should be proud to be an elf.
