I know that you're joking, but CC can take me 20-40 min... I have no idea why.
Glad Bioware gave us one before launch, made me be ready and just choose exactly what I wanted and ready to go.
Yeah, I did, but I'm sure I experimented with the charactor creator a long time. With the final, ingame one, though.
I just checked my statistics... 79.29 is my final time, 94% of the world explored.

The game itself is HUGE in the ammount of content BUT the main quest is kinda short actually. I gathered all the armies, did most of the sidequests before going to Denerim(?) and then BAM i'm fighting the arch demon! It was rather quick for me and i must say a bit anti-climatic.
Still i wouldn't say the game is short! 90 hours... And i have work and stuff to do! Money good spent i say.
Now i'm patnently awaiting any dlc/expansion while doing the second run^^

I did all the side quests and 100% world explored. Took me right at 40 hours on hard.
I've done a few origin stories and messed around up to the landsmeet with a few characters.
I do believe the % of game completed is the total amount of trophies earned (ps3). Since it directly corresponds with the % of trophies it says i've unlocked for the game (%70).
Either way it took me right at 40 hours. Although I did run around with haste on me 90% of the time and I didn't read any lore codexes. I only read what was needed to complete the side quests and continue the story. Although I did everything as far as side quests, companions, DLC and world explored I still feel like I rushed it. I could have easily put another 10 or 15 hours into it by taking my time and reading all the lore. I put married Alistair and Anora, told Morrigan to shove off, made Loghain take the hit from the Archdemon, gave equal rights to elves and rode off with Leliana to re-establish the Grey Wardens. I'd say that was a decent ending for a City Elf.

I think anyone who has finished already since release either has waaaaaaay too much time on thier hands or have rushed through the game without stopping to enjoy the lore, scenery, character development and relationships properly.

ah so what people are saying is that 5% of the completion value may come from doing different origins? so I need to play through the beginning 6 times to get to 100%?
What? Your only playing to get 100% not because you enjoy it?
If 'playing through from the beginning 6 times' is something you can't see yourself doing i think you bought the wrong game.

Ok..but until I see said achievements saying that the OP got 75% of the game complete..in his "Claimed" 38 hours..I won't believe it...
I forgot that the game makes achievements and I checked his list. He only has 100 darkspawn kill achievement so it's unlikely he beat the game without getting the 250 kill achievement. And he doesn't even have any of the 4 beating the game achievements. I noticed his story history mentioned shale which means he has to be logged in to play with DLC so he can't use that as an excuse. The characters might not update as often as they should but the achievements are pretty spot on.
Also I find it slightly amusing all these people who "RUSH" through the game complain "Oh it's only 30-40 hours that's too short!" Well ignoring the fact that it isn't that short I wish a lot more games were that long. I've gotten tired of buying games in recent years only to finish them in 10-20 hours. And most end up being on the lower end of that 10-20. I mean I fork out $60-$70 bucks for a game and I expect a nice long game. But when I finish it in one night I get pretty pissed since I could of just as easily RENTED the game for that.
DA is a nice change of pace as it not only has a fairly long game (even if it was only 40 hours according to some). But it also has a lot of replay value with the different origins. And you don't really know how much until you play through them. I'm already on my second play through and it is quite noticeable how people treat you differently based on your race and class. Of course if you rush through and don't bother to talk to people much you might not notice it. Though curtain story details do change a bit and are kinda hard to miss.

If you only saw half of the game it must count in other origin stories too. Maybe make another character and choose decisions opposite of your first run through.

I was at ~51hrs with 51% completion and 93% exploration (and the 75% side quests achivement) and I listened to every piece of dialog except my camp merchant because he only has 3 lines and I could hear them in my sleep
... but not really a complaint as i'm happily going through the game again (after doing all 5 remaining origins one after the other to find the 'best' one to go from).

After about 80 hours, I've completed well over 75% of the sidequests, five of the six origin stories, and have tried to be rather thorough with everything. What gives? :/

I got the unlock saying 75% of sidequests completed, so yes, I did most of the sidequests.
Just looked at your acheivements and you got less then half the acheivements I got finishing game so sorry, your full of you know what when you say you did 75% of game!
And I dont beleive for a second you played on hard or normal with how little you did in game.
As I said, casual level, no side quests (hell you didnt even finish Redcliff or Mage tower or Sacred Urn of Ashes. I bet you didnt even do Sacred Urn of Ashes as saw no acheivement for it.
