Maybe the Warden will reappear in the oh-so-obviously-inevitable expansion or sequel to DA II. Wreathed in flame and with an unholy vengeance and what not.

Silly people, epilogue slides never happened, didn't you know that? Gaiden handwaved all that months before DA2 came out.

Don't all the slides mention the warden eventually disappearing?

Not according to the wiki:

If the Warden had a romance with Leliana, he/she can eventually step down as Warden-Commander, since the Blight is truly over, and move on. Some claim he/she reunites with her. A year after the Blight's end, the pair are spotted together in Denerim. The commander never returns to Vigil's Keep.

Epilogue is rumor and heresay, they've said it quite a few times. The Epilogue "slides" aren't part of your personal canon. They're just there as closure if you never plan to play a Dragon age game again. Considering that DA2 extends into the years following DA:O, We don't know what really happens to the Warden - Because we Never PLAYED what happens to the Warden. Who says, that whenever/if ever they bring back our Warden, they pull a Baldur's Gate 2. Wake up in a dungeon somewhere, and something has happened to set up our Hero for another game ala Mass Effect 2. It'll happen one day, we all know it. Too many people love their Wardens for them to ignore ever bringing the character back.

But I find it weird because Alistair references The Warden in the same act.
Saying The Hero of Ferelden is waiting back in Denerim.
Or if you married him. "The Ball and Chain".
WTF David Gaider.

LOL!  XD  I haven't gotten to his cameo yet, but I think that's cute.  Then again, I'm the woman who played Social Distortions "Ball and Chain" at her wedding for the lulz.

I'm just mad because Hawke isn't the God Baby from the dark ritual. It was so obvious that was what it should have been. And what's with Leliana joining the Chantry again?! I role-played that my Warden is in Orlais shoe-shopping with her! Dammit, BioWare, why can't you include that in the story?!

I would like to conclude the sarcasm there. OP needs to stop being entitled.

The very last one did yes, even if you got a prior one that stated you kept travelling with Lel if you romanced her, but even still on those the very last one always stated you all eventually went your own ways...which comes down to interpretation. I find it odd in my playthrough I had my Cousland become King, and at the beginning of the game they mention him ruling, but by Act 3 Lel says he's missing...kind of confused but guess thats all for DA3

For now until we get to see more concrete proof of the Warden's fate I'm going with the idea that Leliana and the Warden are together in Orlais. Since Leliana is now working for the Divine, my Warden joined her in Orlais when she finally left the Grey Warden's in order to retire in relative anonymity, which she would never find in Ferelden thanks to being both a Cousland and the Hero of Ferelden. Leliana is very adept at lying, and I could believe her lying to the Champion about the Warden to protect the secret of where she is.

Once they give us something more concrete to go on I'd be happy to change my opinion but until then my Warden is living her happily ever after, at least until her Calling, with Leliana in obscurity in Orlais far away from the prying eyes of Ferelden.

Exactly what I believe, Since the seekers are looking for The Warden as well and Leliana is the only close one to him/her she may not want her love to go through more absolute rubbish with thedas. So that is why she lies at the end. When cassandra asks her what they should do "Keep looking or Give up" We'd all think that Leliana being that she loves the warden would say "KEEP SEARCHING MAGGOTS!" (Along those lines) but instead she says "Its in the maker's hands now" Which she could know where the warden is and is just concealing them so they don't get into the mess that is this huge Mage rebellion and Templar hissy fit rebellion.

Or maybe the Warden went missing after Act 3 or something. I personally don't see the problem.

I don't have a problem with it, it adds to the mystery in the DA universe now. It was just weird.

I'm just sad Zevran hit on my Champion after being so in looooove with my Warden (in that save).

Actually, my Warden probably understands it's just how Zevran rolls. Anders shut Zevran down anyway. So jealous!

I played with my Warden the polygamy mod so she has every reason to make herself scarce. After the war everything settles down and the romanced companions start comparing notes...

My warden went through the Eluvian with Morrigan after Awakening and when I met Alistair, his right hand guy referenced the Warden returning to Ferelden soon. =/

Varrics interrogation occurs 3 years after act 3.

That is plenty of time for the Warden to disappear. And Hawke too apparently....

I smell a Flemeth!!!!!!!!

My warden romanced Lei too, I just figured Warden was stuck out at Vigil's Keep, while Lei (With Dog for protection.) went to Orlias and was the liason for the Freledian Wardens, since Logain died like the dog he was in my playthrough, and Alister is king.
After the Vigil mess, My Cousland left Nathaniel in charge of the wardens at the Keep and went touring about with Lei until they got word about Morrigan coming back, Lei took off to check another source, probably with the Chantry, while my Warden and Dog went to the hut.
The "Gift" Morrigan left for the Warden was probably something Earth-Shattering-Level big, so she took off right away to deal with it, and is now currently "Lost." Lei, not able to find the Warden, uses the Seekers to look for her, and gets pulled into the Hawke mess via proxy.

With the Warden and Champion missing, it seems almost destined those two will meet and somehow play a role together. Whether we get to see it or not, who knows. Regardless, we know Leliana is looking for the Warden, among many others, and the Champion is also sought after. I have a feeling, a hope, that a bigger and more satisfying conclusion awaits all the characters.

I do have a strong strong feeling that the warden will return in DA3 and be the player's character again. And that Hawke and Cassandra will be party members. Perhaps Leliana too :D.

My next trip through DA2 will bring in my Cousland warden who went off with Leliana. I'd be curious to see her mention that guy she loved.

Since Leliana mentioned that Hawke disappeared "just like the grey warden" I'm inclined ti believe that was a setup for the next chapter of dragon age. Perhaps for DA3 it'll be you're grey warden and his/her allies working with Hawke and her allies.

I'd prefer to choose between one or the other. With just one playthrough I've become kind of attached to my Hawke, just like my shepard.
