For some reason the game will not recognize the home and end keys on my keyboard so I can't rotate the camera up or down.  Also, I can't zoom in and out using page-up and page-down but I can zoom using the mouse.

I can remap the zoom keys and I now use 9 and 3 on the numeric keyboard to zoom.  However there's no way to remap the vertical camera rotation.

Does anyone else have this problem?

d'oh! Just discovered that the right mouse button controls the camera angle. It's not in the manual, but still I should have figured it out.

The right mouse button? How do you accomplish this without sending your party members to where you right-click? :P

I had the same problem. I use the large wired keyboard and it doesn't recognize page up and down. Had to remap it to p and l to make it work. Strange!

Actually I take it back. This morning the mouse scroll worked (it didn't yesterday) but for some reason scroll out isn't mapped by default. So mouse working better.

Click and hold the right mouse button.  Then move the mouse to change the camera angle.  It's actually much easier than using the keyboard.

I should mention that I'm using a regular microsoft mouse, not the wireless apple one.

I have the wired keyboard also.  Maybe it's not a problem with the wireless ones.

How did you do the remapping?

Intersting. I think they didn't test the wired "programmers" keyboard (which in itself is interesting!)

In the game hit escape and pick options. There is a keyboard settings option (don't remember exact name). There are two possible mappings of each feature. I changed the camera control to be P & L for 2ndary control and added scroll up to so that I can control it through the mouse.

Be careful when you're using the right mouse button to steer your character in certain directions. If any hostilities or NPCs that want to talk with you show up, the game will spontaneously rotate your view 180º.

I've never used the right click to control camera. Have to try it next time. I always pause and rotate the camera when I play.

Hmm, the game programmers didn't test the programmers keyboard.  A little ironic, I guess. :)

I had
tried using the options menu to change key assignments but still
couldn't get vertical camera adjustment.  But the right mouse button gives you complete 360 degree camera movement, which has made the game much easier for me to play.  It's a little quirky, as LordJeyl points out, but otherwise works well.

Did you try P&L? i.e I had to map it to keys that exists on the "normal" keyboard to make it work. Seems like page up/down etc doesn't work. With P/L I can zoom vertically (finally) and now also with the mouse.

You might also need to restart the game. I had less success yesterday but this morning it all worked fine.

That's what I was thinking :-). It's interesting that transgaming doesn't seem to use the keyboard every mac programmer I know uses. I don't know how you can program without having does extra keys the larger keyboard gives you. Oh well!

I'll give that a try.

I can get zoom in and out, but I can't do vertical adjustment in any way other than the mouse, and that spins all over the place to the point where it's barely worth using. It's the one major problem I'm having with my Mac install. I really, REALLY want a fix for this one if at all possible!

Its not just combat that does it, if you quick save while running your camera can spaz out too.
