You still haven't explained WHAT you are trying to do in the first place.

My problem is how do I save in a way that makes my changes stick? I am trying to change rivalry/approval. Reading over my first post I do see that I was not entirley clear on that. I did read the post earlier up saying that just pressing save will not change anything and you must use save as. I for some reason can not save properly. I would think this would be extremley easy, but I'm obviously missing something.

Edit: I figured that if I have a save and a copy of the save, then edit the copy it will not reflect in game. Only editing the original does me any good. Ah well. If any one else stumbles on this I hope they figure this out as well.

So I figured out a way to add Anders Vengeance Specialization to Merrill if anyone is interested.

> SAVEGAME_PARTYLIST
> SAVEGAME_PARTYPOOLMEMBERS
> 2 (Value beside it should say gen00fl_merrill)
> SAVEGAME_CREATURE_STATS
> SAVEGAME_ABILITYLIST

While highlighting SAVEGAME_ABILITYLIST, use the Edit section at the very bottom to scroll down to the value just before Value 312000 and hit Add twice. Then go up above and edit the two new values to be 311000 and 311001. Doing that will add the talent tree, and actually make them show up when you bring up the menu. Without the 311001 value I don't think they'll show up. Also, you may not have to add in the value just before 312000, but I did just so it looks cleaner, and so the values aren't out of order. I'll see if I can dig up the other Specialization values as well, and I'm pretty sure Merrill's Specialization is value 312000 and 312001.

Edit:

More values.
Force Mage: 307000 and 307001
Spirit Healer 308000 and 308001
Blood Mage 309000 and 309001

I don't suppose anyone knows how to add specific items to your backpack?

I just discovered through a friend playing the game that I missed an item for "The Fallen" set in Act 1 (not sure how), and I was hoping to be able to "insert it" at this point in the game.

Don't feel like restarting just to get one item, but I also hate knowing I missed something that was probably easy (and glitched?) to get.

:)

After managing to get the ingame consol working, mostly to add gold since things are sometimes very costly ingame and also to test. Using a seperate character for that.

I had trouble editing the attributes, but I found a nice workaround. If you have the emporium this is how I did it.

I first used the console to increase my stats in str and dex by 50. runscript zz_supercrit player.
Then I drank the potion that resets your character.
I put the free points in my selected stats, ran the script again, and drank the potion. At level 5 I now have 50+ in all attributes. Allow me to basically use any armor and weapon I have trained for.

To do the same for your companions you need to use the script.
runscript zz_supercrit gen00fl_ALLYNAME I haven't tried it myself, but it should work.

I've only had the game crash for me ones. I suggest you do these changes early in the game, as if things crash and you can't play the load, then you have't lost much of your progress.

Of course that cheat also adds 1,000 health and mana permanently so its probably a little much,

Though I did through a little expermentation find out how to undo the mana and health bonus from supercrit while keeping the bonus stats.(probably won't work on companions, way to lazy to test it.). But its complicate enough your better off using the save editor and I'm not sure if I can accurately describe how you do it.

You can edit it through your save .das file. with pyGFF go to SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR >> SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR >> SAVEGAME_EQUIPMENT_ITEMS >> (item) >> ITEM_PROPERTIES
You will see a list of numbers. Look for the number that matches one of the below. And change it to the Damage Type you want.

10000 - Physical
10001 - Fire
10002 - Cold
10004 - Electrical
10005 - Nature
1006 - Spirit

Is there a way to edit the mages starter Robe stats ? I like the look of the robe is all and some of the others just dont impress me, however the starter robes stats need tweaking as the game goes along.

I have completed my first play-through as a mage, and I'm probably going to do another mage after I complete the game with a warrior and a rogue. I really do not like most of the mage robes in the game, so I'm wondering if it is possible to use the editor to copy the Champion robes from my first mage and add them to the inventory of my next one.

Any thoughts?

I just used the editor to increase rivalry levels with some characters, in order to prevent them from leaving due to in-game events (trying not to spoil here).

However, I noticed that the unique powers for rivalry did not activate when I edited the approval meter to -100 for these characters. I haven't tested it yet, but I'm wondering if these character's will still stay with hacked approval, or if there is some kind of trigger that I'm missing? And if so, how do I trigger the unique powers now that I've hacked the approval?

I don't think the game differentiates between mana and stamina at all. It just changes the color for whichever class.

If I want to duplicate an item in the inventory (in this case, to give a rogue a 'matched set' of daggers) how do I do that? Copying the item and pasting it into the backpack looks like it is adding it to the save file, but it doesn't appear in-game. What am I missing?

1. Copy the item & paste it into the backpack
2. Change the Object ID
