1. Check your character for the xp needed to reach the next level.
2. from the console:
3. runscript addxp x
replace x with the xp you need to reach the next level.

repeat process till you reach your desired level.

If someone's already worked out the xp required for each level 1 - 20, please post.

Is there any way to add specific items to your inventory? I've got a bug in Act 3 where I can't get Grace to turn hostile so I can't loot The Champion headgear.

this is a list of the trees you can add/subtract from your character/party members.

open editor (not daosavegame). find and open your save game file (usually C:\\Users\\yourusername\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\Characters\\charactername\\Saves\\Slot_xx). click the plus sign.
to add to the main character double click "SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR".
double click "SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR".
double click "SAVEGAME_CREATURE_STATS".
double click "SAVEGAME_ABILITYLIST".
here you will add a new line with a value for the ability tree you want (example: 210000 adds dual weapon). to make the tree active without a specialization point add another line the same as the first but change the last zero to one(example: 210001).
now click file, click save as, and save over your ****.das file. if you have more than 12 trees total it crashes, and remember hawk already has one just because he is hawk and therefor awesome.

adding to followers is almost the same.
double click "SAVEGAME_PARTYLIST".
double click "SAVEGAME_PARTYPOOLMAMBERS".
double click on the party member you want to edit (it will show named on the far right)
double click "SAVEGAME_CREATURE_STATS".
double click "SAVEGAME_ABILITYLIST".
from here its the same as above.

So if you find any more, or figure out what adding rogue/warrior to non rogue/warrior class does let me know. i may post a video later if i can get my camera working.

If any one is wondering how to alter money, I found that you can just use the "daosavegame" editor first to alter the value, then hit save in the file menu. Then open the same save using the editor and save it using "save as", replacing the previous save, without making any changes. You won't get the content is installed error because the editor formats the save to a dragon age 2 save. Might work for the other stats, but I haven't tried anything else yet.

So used editor to dink around with adding tevinter fugitive, did all steps that solraven posted, saved up, went to play the game, now every save i try to load, from any character, even tried starting a new one, makes the game crash. Any suggestions? Or was it just epic fail on my part lol

sounds unrelated if you started a new game and it still does it, if you use steam try "verify game cash", or try restoring shadowcopy of all edited files and folders. it may just be coincidental.

P.S. to everybody, it is never a bad idea to backup files befor editing. i cant tell you how many timed i kicked myself in the butt after i messed somthing up and didnt backup.

the latest editor (0.5.0a) has been working flawlessly for me, i added money, stats, ap, tp, sp. i think you run into issues when you edit off the wall crap like attack speed or threat generation.

I just used the editor to increase rivalry levels with some characters, in order to prevent them from leaving due to in-game events (trying not to spoil here).

However, I noticed that the unique powers for rivalry did not activate when I edited the approval meter to -100 for these characters. I haven't tested it yet, but I'm wondering if these character's will still stay with hacked approval, or if there is some kind of trigger that I'm missing? And if so, how do I trigger the unique powers now that I've hacked the approval?

Anyone figure this out, looks like if you set the friendship or rival within the editor, you do not get the passive ability of the companion.

the assumption is to set the level at 45 or -45 depending on what you want and then ingame get an increase.

I'm comparing the saved games of my completed runs, to my brand new and have not yet found it.

EDIT:

Ok found out how to add them, but you have to go in and select the Ability (as if leveling up).

PER sOLRAVEN  social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/307/index/6445029/4#6740670

His post just above mine has the full paths.

The assumption w/ the editor is that you could have both passive abilities. ( I have not tried it)

My problem is how do I save in a way that makes my changes stick? I am trying to change rivalry/approval. Reading over my first post I do see that I was not entirley clear on that. I did read the post earlier up saying that just pressing save will not change anything and you must use save as. I for some reason can not save properly. I would think this would be extremley easy, but I'm obviously missing something.

I struggled with this too because I read that same post.

You need to press save after every value you alter. It's more accurate to think of that save button (the one at the bottom where you alter the rivalry/approval or other values) as a "refresh" or "update changes" button. It will make your change but won't save the file. Save As is used to save the whole file but it won't save your changes.

The steps should be:

Copy your save file to a back up folder.
Open the original save file.
Change the approval rating.
Press Save to update changes.
Use Save As to save your file.

If something strange happens: copy the back up save over the altered/original save file.

ROYAL ARCHER... is that DLC? i wonder if i can give that to characters without having DLC...

also im curious as to whether other characters get the appropriate bonuses if you manually add them? if there is a favor change are the abilities without appropriate favor lost?

yes The royal archer is the Exiled Prince DLC.

Not sure it seems a bit wonky, as I had to 'select' the ability as if leveling up, but I never really looked to see if Isabelea's buff was added to my warrior.

I've since went to this method.

Setting the rep to 45 or -45. then doing the companion quest, thus making the rep pop the appropriate bonus.

After that editing again to 95 or -95, then again doing a 'rep' quest to solidify the Friendship or Rival.

this way the game itself is making the appropriate changes. when the frienship or rival is triggered.

A fun combo was adding Blood Mage to Merril and cranked her CON way up.

Since the problem is with DA2 not getting the correct history from DA:O, Awakening and Witch Hunt (things like the main character having killed Loghain, my romance with Morrigan not showing up, etc) I dont think that will help. For some reason it says Anders died at Vigil Keep even though he was in my party when I saved Amaranthine; go figure.

Oh, I see what you were asking.. you want to edit the origins flags in your DA2 save, yes?
That still won't matter, the flags are actually imported correctly, its just there are bugs in the main game with how it acts upon those flags.

Vault debug will show you the flags that were imported from your origins save. I looked mine over and all of them were correct, but the game acted upon them incorrectly. Its not the flags or importing that is the issue, its how the game uses those flags. There are some fixes coming, though exactly when I don't know.

I dont know then, I just know that when I checked to see what vault debug had found there were a handful of things that were incorrect from events that had happened in my game. I'm gonna try gibbs save game editor and then run vault debug to make a comparison.

Using the gibb save game editor there were only two flaws; first it showed that Avernus was doing both good and evil work...who knows, maybe he is doing evil work still in secret. The only other problem is that it didn't show my romance with Morrigan. I also didn't see any mention of the hero leaving with Morrigan during Witch Hunt but maybe because of the romance bug that doesn't show up either.
