Really? I'm at 15 hours now and I haven't even been to the deep roads yet.
I call shenanigans.
i back up your call of shenanigans .
I think the OP rushed through without reading anything as quick as he could then moans its too short . his loss.
one thing that is in his favor is that fights are much, MUCH easier in DA2 than in DAO, intially. Well, that's how I see it as. that and the dungeons are much smaller, but this isnt really DA2 vs DAO, it's about the time lenght in DA2.
There are so many little side quests to do that even if you did rush through them I don't see how you can get it all done unless you literally didn't read anything
in anycase it really doesn't matter. when you do speed playthroughes you miss a lot of the game, sidequests or no. there is almost more to a game than just completing fetch quests, especially in the DA universe.

One of my friends who got the game early said you can beat it in 15 hours if you do just the story and around 50 hours if you hunt down all the sidequests.

Then there's some sort of information you're leaving out. Side quests undone, (even though you CLAIM you did them) or something because there is absolutely no way you have finished the game in 16.5 hours. I could care less about your screenshots bro lol, you're not giving the full story somehow and leaving information out vital to this analysis. The ONLY way you could have done it in 16.5 hours is if you left out quite a few quests. As I said, Im 22+ hours in and still not done. 25 hours or 20 hours, I might be able to believe. But 16.5? Yea, you're fabricating parts of this story somewhere bro, plain and simple.
Do you honestly think I care if you believe me or not? We've established that I skipped the demo part of the dialogue, yeah I've missed some side quests intentionally, but not enough to offset it by a large sum. So I could care less about your opinon, and me doing or not doing the sidequests is still irrelevant because without sidequests it still took me a good 30-40 hours to beat DA:O on my 3rd playthrough which is what this thread is about. Now stop trying to play detective ****** and go to sleep.
Hey man, you really come across as an arrogant ****. This dude was simply talking facts about the gameplay. Here's my opinion: You DID skip a substantial number of sidequests, enough to crap away 15 hours of gameplay at LEAST. Considering that you knowingly skipped sidequests, then why the heck did you make an annoying thread about the game being finished too quickly?
Now, why don't you stop trying to convice us that you played this game to the MAX, because it's clear that you didn't. Maybe YOU should go back to sleep man, we could use a time-out from all your bull-sh**.
u mad?

I don't understand why so many people consider the 'shortness' of the game as a bad thing. Can you honestly state that you enjoyed wandering in Orzammar and especially the (depressing) Deep Roads for 15+ hours? I started hating it on my 2nd playthrough.:/
Good point. In DA2 I heard that they wanted an expedition to Deep roads and I almost quite right there! I had enough of Deep Roads!

15 hours in and 20% of the first act? Bull**** unless you have stood in kirkwall doing nothing for 10 of those hours. i did eevrything in the first act in half that time.
And..
50 hours???
He probably did do nearly all of them in 16 hours i did most in 19-20 hrs play time but i did miss some but i also left it running accidently for a few hours so.. but yea everyone is lying, the game is a bazillion hrs long we all just rushed it..

I sometimes envy those who can get through games quickly. They tend to actually finish games, unlike me.Hope you enjoyed the game.
Come on Stanley, everyone knows the game is much shorter than DA:O. Why does Bioware pretend like it's not?

Anyway, Play time in DA:O (just like in say Baldur's Gate II) is very padded with boring battles. Especially the Fade and the Deep Roads sections which seems to only be there to artificially extend game time.

19 hours, 1st year, didn't even touched main plot quests yet.
So I guess either my game came out packed with side quest or you actually haven't done every single one, as you claim.
What the...?! Okay, I am getting way confused about this stuff, because I seem to recall the "first year" being after you complete the smuggling or the mercenary quest to get enough money to get into Kirkwall. That took me, at most, probably 5 hours to complete, if even that much, without skipping dialogue and doing a lot of running around, talking to everyone I could. What does everyone mean by the "first year"?? Surely not the time before you meet Varric???

I'm at 11-13 hours (left for a couple hours and came back somewhere in there) so far and even though I just now have enough money to go to the DR, I've still got about 5 sidequests on the burner.
