I'm at a little over 10 hours and I haven't even gotten to the deep roads yet. There are a ton of quests to do. Some people like to enjoy and savor everything the game has to offer, others not so much. Reminds me of MMO players who rush to max level in like 2 days and then complain to the devs that there is nothing to to at end game. Can't please em' all.

I was at about 8-9 when I finished deeproads, after that the pace of the game sped up quite a lot.  I did all the quests available to me and I savored everything I could, Im a hardcore DA fan so don't accuse me of rushing through, I have like 300+ hours on origins and more on DA:A


As far as achievements go, there are some you can only get on a second playthrough and some based on classes. I wasn't really going for achievements and dont plan on it.

We get long times because its about the Journey not the Destination and we explore everywhere and do everything we can along the way.

That would be my best guess, sometimes I got too excited by the story that I didn't explore everything and wanted to continue the main plot so that might be why.. I have a feeling that I'll rack up a lot more hours on my next playthrough. It's just a lot shorter than Origins so that's why I'm kind of frustrated.

I can vouch for a fact that there is one because I have an achievement for discovering 100 codex entries.

Playtime is subjective and difficulty also changes it alot. Especially if you consider that Normal is the new Casual.

Hard/Normal difficulty, all side quests, not reading most of the codecs, moderate amount of battle pausing

7 hours in and about half the side-quests before the Deep Roads done, at Hard difficulty. If all 3 acts are that long, that means a 30 hour game at least. So far I am pleased.

first act is by far the longest..

Hmm... this is bad news. I really don't know why Dragon Age 2 came out so soon. It should have had another year in development. The first game came out hardly over a year ago! Not to say it is a bad game. I am about 5.5 hours in and enjoying it, not nearly as much as i enjoyed DA:O but it is not bad.

I just beat it in 14 hours I did the companion quests but very few side-quests. I played on normal and casual when i was getting my ass kicked... It was fun but doesn't stand up to origins.

19 hours, 1st year, didn't even touched main plot quests yet.

So I guess either my game came out packed with side quest or you actually haven't done every single one, as you claim.

No, I did.. just because you're slow doesn't mean I haven't done it. I saw my friend play earlier and he spent like 5 minutes paused thinking of what move to make next.. so I mean if you play it like that then yes, you'll end up with a 30 hour playthrough..

damn good work TC that's the fastest playthrough I've heard of so far lol and you even proved it with a photo. And here I though I was doing pretty well with 10 hours and like halfway into the Deep Roads...

Finished the game in 24h and it was great!

Waiting to see if there's going to be an expansion or more Dlc's down the way until DA3 (same as it was with DA:O).

Looking forward to finding out what's going to happen after that cliffhanger.
