Really? 16.5 hours? Really? I did every single side quest and companion quest and I just beat the game in 16.5 hours. Way too short, many plot points were undeveloped and overall I would have liked to seen more, was expecting this game for a really long time and while it was really fun, both the story and the length of the game are a let down.

Jebus christ. I have 14 hours played so far and I'm only level 7 still in year 1. How do you people finish so fast? Do you just burn through the main plot quests and not doing any of the other quests, companion quests etc?

I don't explore that much, I do all the quests in the area strategically, I don't spend time reading tomes in my first playthrough, I try to make travel efficient, I don't die in fights, I was a mage making fights last 10-15 seconds as opposed to my rogue who takes several minutes. I did skip the intro scene however since I played the demo but that's like 15-20 minutes.

I'm at the end of Act 2 and around 20 hours in. Dear Maker that sounds bad when I say it... I need some sleep.

Wow...some of you...give him a break. I don't care how long it took him to finish the game, and some of you shouldn't either. If you want to take your time playing through a game, like an RPG, so be it. The same can be said about those who go through it quicker.

Except he's using the short time as an excuse to bash the game.

No, I'm not bashing it at all for that reason, I said that I had very high expectation which were not fully met. The game is shorter than origins with a weaker story and character development, which all could have been remidied if the game was further expanded and more character dialogue was added as well as a different area to continue your story in, spending 10 hours in kirkland isn't that exciting. You also couldn't speak to the characters without having to get a quest and talk to them at their house which took away from emersion. All I was saying that the game feels unfinished and there are many things that could have been added. It being shorter than origins is just proof of it being inferior to it.

Well actually you are bashing the game right there.

But it being short isn't an excuse for me bashing it. Why would I hate on a series I love? it just happened that the length of the game was a factor in it not being as emersive and vast as origins among other things.

Noone asked you to make a comparison between the two games. The games are different, simply.
Devs stated months ago that it was shorter. No surprise there.

So saying that a game didn't met his expectations and that he was hoping for more is bashing a game?
Fanboy much?
Seriously I didn't saw so much butthurt in Bioware fanbase in long time. His stating an opinion he backed it up with both saves and achievements and it's a FACT that he finished game in 16 hours. All whininig and accusing him won't change that.

Im at 20 hours and just started act 3. I dont wander around, but i did do 99% of sidequests. I skipped reading the codexs and havent completely died in a fight yet. My only downfall is occationally repeating Fenris's cutscenes because he's by far the most interesting character in my opinion and, well, I have to squee. I honestly dont know how you got through it so fast.

Even if the next 2 acts only last another 10 hours, i'll consider this game very good and pretty lengthy without excess filler.

I can make comparisons between whatever the hell I want. U mad?

And just because the games are different doesn't mean one has to be ****tier than the other.

Just out of curiosity for folks who are far into the game or who've completed it, how big are acts 2 and 3 in comparison to act 1?

I'm guessing act 1 is the largest due to needing to raise money for the expedition. No need for spoilers either. In any case, it'll be great if they're roughly the same size but I'm guessing they're not. I'm guessing act 2 and 3 have quite a few main quests in relation to act 1 as well. (From what I can make out from the free prima guide excerpts, about 10 main quests in the first act)

Fingers crossed I'll get my copy in about 4 hours through the letter box...

Proving that you're ignorant? mkay. The two games can be completely different, but when one is lower in quality you can make comparisons, and who are you to tell people what anyone is asking them to do. I can make comparisons between two games if I want, this is a public forum.

16 Hours still in Act 2, no side quest skipping, skipped virtually all of the dialogue in the beginning because I played the demo about 5 times.

I've only done a few quests in Act 2, just for a frame of reference.

Hi, I've just pulled an all-nighter playing DA2 (that's about 9hours of gameplay in a single session) and I'm still not even close to the end of act I because I'm litterally being showered in sidequests (and not the kind of poorly done job board "quests" DAO would put you through, either). What the hell are you doing OP ?

Earlier on I stated that the first act was the longest with 2 and 3 being about the same in length

Well, it looks like a lot of people are getting most of their hours from getting the 50 sovereigns, you need to complete most of the main and side quests in order to get the 50 sovs so there is no way I could have skipped anything and it only took me 3-4 hours to do it.

You're only embarrassing yourself by being so rude and you're losing your credibility by acting like this.

Comparison threads get locked over here. And no this is not a public forum,it's Bioware private forums.

I don't think anyone is disputing that. At least I'm not. However, he made it seem like 16 hours is normal, or standard and basing his opinion of the game on it. Doing a speed run just so you can say you did a speed run and base the overall quality of the product based on that speed run isn't constructive.

I also stated multiple times that it was not meant to be a speed run in any way, I played the game as I would normally play a first playthrough rpg, I focus more on the main story and do all the character and side quests that I can, and then on the next playthrough do all of the exploring. And I made several shared opinions that were constructive and overall I loved the game.

And I don't need credibility, I have the achievements and the saves to prove that I did everything. And you're just mad that you no longer have an argument. Now gtfo my thread *troll spray*

Again You are blind to the facts that he also posted achievements that prove he did not speed run the game. He finished the game in 16 hours. Not cheated, not sped run, not skipped, F-I-N-I-S-H-E-D. Got that?

Again You miss the fact, that he posted an achievement list that proves that he did not speed run. He finished the game. Not cheated, not skipped, not speed run, he F-I-N-I-S-H-E-D. Got that?
