It is perfectly valid and alright RP to skip every dialogue. Play a char who just ignores what people say.

it's just the way you play, there's nothing wrong with it I'm just stating the differences in our play styles.

I guess you could try it in a harder difficulty like nightmare. I just did the Deep Roads thing and I'm at 25+hrs through but then something happens that I didn't want to happen and redid it again but this time in Normal.

And I could say it goes a whole lot faster on normal than nightmare because I no longer care about positioning and ambushing I just rush on through smoldering everyone with tempest/firestorms and the enemies just drop like flies. Specially the boss fight lol shave off an hour there alone by my guesstimate.

OP, do you get the awesome armor towards the end as shown at the very start of the game?

Wow...some of you...give him a break. I don't care how long it took him to finish the game, and some of you shouldn't either. If you want to take your time playing through a game, like an RPG, so be it. The same can be said about those who go through it quicker.

Except he's using the short time as an excuse to bash the game.

Bashing a game because it is too short is valid, level-headed, and objective opinion.

Only 1 thing I dont understand is how was its possible to reach lvl 25 without doing all content (missing some side quests), when it was stated there wasnt enough Xp ingame to reach that lvl.

I will never believe you can complete such a game in 16 hours without missing a good chunk of its content.
So this kind of game bashing has no sense for me, because you didn't really play the game, just an incomplete fast-forward version of it.

Everyone has a different playstyle. I sometimes skip spoken dialogue if text is provided and I'm playing a game a second or third time through because I know what the character sounds like and just read the text as the character in my head. Certain scenes do catch me and I have to watch/listen to those however.

16 hours would be one flu cursen weekend spent at home.

Seriously, this doesnt happen unless you're playing on casual. In which case whats the point? Normal difficulty is casual. Casual difficulty is ruin my game please. Why would you switch to casual for bosses? And then you complain the game isnt long enough? How about take your time to learn to play the game and at least complete it on hard (just above DA:O normal), then you can complain

Really? 16.5 hours? Really? I did every single side quest and companion quest and I just beat the game in 16.5 hours. Way too short, many plot points were undeveloped and overall I would have liked to seen more, was expecting this game for a really long time and while it was really fun, both the story and the length of the game are a let down.

maybe because you dont read or anything

His stating an opinion he backed it up with both saves and achievements and it's a FACT that he finished game in 16 hours.

you can also read every  single tome in the game and get 70+ hours *shrug*

I didn't mean to do a "speed through" just played the game regularly..

I don't think anyone is disputing that. At least I'm not. However, he made it seem like 16 hours is normal, or standard and basing his opinion of the game on it. Doing a speed run just so you can say you did a speed run and base the overall quality of the product based on that speed run isn't constructive.

Again You are blind to the facts that he also posted achievements that prove he did not speed run the game. He finished the game in 16 hours. Not cheated, not sped run, not skipped, F-I-N-I-S-H-E-D. Got that?

Uh, you can still speed run the game and finish it at the same time. The whole point of a speed run is to, S-P-E-E-D through it.

The fact that some people are still around 10-12 hours in Act 1 proves that 16 hours for the entire thing certainly isn't the norm.

Well I guess we're not worthy to be in your awesome presence.

I mean since basically everyone else that has posted in this thread have more than twice the hours logged, I guess they are either as clever as "Sandal (Enchantment)", or you made a speed run.

I guess people just left the game running having dinner for 15 hours or just had a brain fart and stared at a wall for 15 hours.

See you are not representing an average play time, and you keep talking how you played it "chill and relaxed" and did everything and no dialogue skipping.

Gameinformer just posted an XP glitch that can give infinite xp and level up, I can see how things like that would "aid" in faster game play.

In conclusion, you complained it was really short yet 98% play within the expected average game time of 30-40 hours.
So either what happened to you and your playthrough doesn't matter or warrant a complaint or something else doesn't add up.

Not that anyone will care 8 pages into the thread, but I too completed the game in 17 hours with all sidequests, and all companion quests, WITHOUT skipping dialogue. It's not that hard as a mage, you run around aoeing groups down in two seconds, and hold down tab and spam 'R' to loot stuff. I didn't bother listening to any of the banter from non-interactable NPC's or look at scenery all that much. I will be starting another playthrough tomorrow, and see if I missed anything.

19 hours, 1st year, didn't even touched main plot quests yet.

So I guess either my game came out packed with side quest or you actually haven't done every single one, as you claim.

No, I did.. just because you're slow doesn't mean I haven't done it. I saw my friend play earlier and he spent like 5 minutes paused thinking of what move to make next.. so I mean if you play it like that then yes, you'll end up with a 30 hour playthrough..

Remember time flies by when your having fun.
You fans must be enjoying yourselves so much you dont notice your taking forever.
Feel free to make a record of your playthrough and watch it.You may notice how slow some of you may be.
Slow does not = bad.
But seriously most gamers speed through.Because we can register the scenery looks nice.Scim through codex fast.We know what were going to do within seconds and do not spend much time thinking about.
It is a game.HAVE FUN.THe game for me will probably be 10 hours.I wont skip through dialogue I have not heard before.Chances are I wont play on hard.Normal or casual and speed through.* I am not buying DA2 for its combat*
A small game isnt bad.
It depends on your tastes.
THe game is smaller= confirmed.
The game has more simplified parts= confirmed.
All the positivity in the world wont make this game better than origins overall.
It was too high of a task for the Bioware team with the resources and time they were given.
That is just my opinion though.

Actually there is, AND able to get the trophies.  This wasn't his first playthrough.  You can simply hit up the main quests, pick up the main characters on the second playthrough without hitting anything else or picking up anything else.  You zoom through the game, and skip all the dialogues and you can finish in less then 16 hrs even.

You get the trophies the FIRST playthrough...and even then you aren't going to get ALL the trophies, hence the second playthrough is necessary.

Look at his trophies and see how many contradict each other.

I don't have the game(and won't have for some time...stupid computer not being able to handle good games...*grumbles*), but I just find it a little sad considering some of the forum discussions a year ago. People were talking about how they finished the game in 40-50 hours initially and there was shrieking and whinging about such a short game. Hysteria. Because most people wanted a game at least >100 hrs. That subsided of course(I think my first playthrough of Origins was ~60hrs? 70? Don't remember offhand). But now 30hrs is considered "good". And that just makes me a little sad...

Regular playthrough in origins took me about 30 hours.
Rushing took 16.
If someone who doesnt waste time finishes in 16 hours.
I am afraid I will only spend 10 hours.

I went through the main quest in DA:O the first time in 20 hrs straight (no sidequests), and main game + all side quests in around 40 hours.

16 hours is kinda strange though. At least some form of cheats are used, surely?

Thats not ignoring what people say. To do that you still have to listen to it and then not act on what they say.

What you'd really be playing is a character who has the super power to stop people mid-sentence and go onto the next thing
