I'm at a little over 10 hours and I haven't even gotten to the deep roads yet. There are a ton of quests to do. Some people like to enjoy and savor everything the game has to offer, others not so much. Reminds me of MMO players who rush to max level in like 2 days and then complain to the devs that there is nothing to to at end game. Can't please em' all.

I was at about 8-9 when I finished deeproads, after that the pace of the game sped up quite a lot.  I did all the quests available to me and I savored everything I could, Im a hardcore DA fan so don't accuse me of rushing through, I have like 300+ hours on origins and more on DA:A

As far as achievements go, there are some you can only get on a second playthrough and some based on classes. I wasn't really going for achievements and dont plan on it.

DA2 is supposedly an RPG, not a "trophy-hunting" game. :pinched: Don't sweat the BS.

Really? 16.5 hours? Really? I did every single side quest and companion quest and I just beat the game in 16.5 hours. Way too short, many plot points were undeveloped and overall I would have liked to seen more, was expecting this game for a really long time and while it was really fun, both the story and the length of the game are a let down.

I am about 10 hours into the game, and I still have a lot of Act 1 left.  I don't know how you did all those quests that quickly.  Unless Acts 2 and 3 are just an hour each...

Your completion time was probably also effected by how often you paused during combat and how much time you took out the quest to read codex entries.

Took me 15 hours (per the save game file) to finish Act I doing absolutely freaking everything there is to do. I did every side quest, every companion quest, every rumor, read only the codexes I found interesting, did every dialogue (I always investigate just about everything - that's how you find the gems!) without skipping, watch the movies. I didn't enter the Deep Roads until my quest log was completely empty save for the main quest that takes you to the Deep Roads. I don't pause combat a whole lot, but I wouldn't say I never pause. Normal difficulty. I felt like I was blazing through, but I didn't realize that 15 hours had passed.

I was a little worried. If I add another 15 hours per act, I'm looking at 45 hours, plus whatever DLC will add. Not too bad.

We get long times because its about the Journey not the Destination and we explore everywhere and do everything we can along the way.

Exactly. When i play games like this, and the Mass Effect series, i stop to look at the scenery quite often, obviously after battles, this can add hours to the experience.

When I get it tommorrow most likley if it isn't 30-40 hours minimum gameplay just from sidequests, campanion ones and main quests. It will be ebayed. Not single title in my games I own are less than 40 hours including DAO which loved and have spent around 60+ hours on each playthrough though that did include all the DLC, and 40+ hours for just DAO no DLC.

When a game costs £40 on release day and I require 40+ hours gameplay to consider value for money, that equals £1 an hour entertainment value. The difference between games and movies is a game costs you £40 regardlesss of how good it is or bad, while a movie if want to be trolling me is £2-3 a movie here where I am of which after watch it for hour or two you have option walking out and not spending another £38 on the same product.

Then there's some sort of information you're leaving out. Side quests undone, (even though you CLAIM you did them) or something because there is absolutely no way you have finished the game in 16.5 hours. I could care less about your screenshots bro lol, you're not giving the full story somehow and leaving information out vital to this analysis. The ONLY way you could have done it in 16.5 hours is if you left out quite a few quests. As I said, Im 22+ hours in and still not done. 25 hours or 20 hours, I might be able to believe. But 16.5? Yea, you're fabricating parts of this story somewhere bro, plain and simple.

Do you honestly think I care if you believe me or not? We've established that I skipped the demo part of the dialogue, yeah I've missed some side quests intentionally, but not enough to offset it by a large sum. So I could care less about your opinon, and me doing or not doing the sidequests is still irrelevant because without sidequests it still took me a good 30-40 hours to beat DA:O on my 3rd playthrough which is what this thread is about. Now stop trying to play detective ****** and go to sleep.

Hey man, you really come across as an arrogant ****. This dude was simply talking facts about the gameplay. Here's my opinion: You DID skip a substantial number of sidequests, enough to crap away 15 hours of gameplay at LEAST. Considering that you knowingly skipped sidequests, then why the heck did you make an annoying thread about the game being finished too quickly?

Now, why don't you stop trying to convice us that you played this game to the MAX, because it's clear that you didn't. Maybe YOU should go back to sleep man, we could use a time-out from all your bull-sh**.

Within the first two pages of this thread, the original poster was asked to show some proof. Although I personally had my resignations about his claim, I wasn't expecting both the screenshots and profile achievements list. Wow! It took him roughly 16 hours to beat this game. I hope he stopped to smell the artificial roses. Congrats.

It seems the average time to complete Act 1 is around 10-16 hours according to reading all the posts here.. The question I have is people stop telling me how long takes to do first act and tell me how long they took to do the second so can work out an average time per act, get an overall avg in total for the game not just keep saying act 1 all the time.

As someone who gets the game tomorrow(Englishperson). I must say that I am pretty disappointed with how short the game apparently is. My american friend did everything and beat it in 22 hours... I swear video games are getting shorter and shorter.

I didn't skip dialogue, I did every quest I could find.

All the quests you could find must have been main plot quests.

I am still in Act 2 (Year Four - Last Quest) at ~30 hours.  I am looking in every nook and cranny in every section of the city.

I agree.  The OP makes a post to show how disappointed he is with the length of the game and says DA:O is longer by far.  You skipped dialogue and skipped 15+ hours of quests.  That's like complaining that a movie is too short but you fast forward through the first half of it.  Your argument is null and void right there.  Sorry come back when you have a substantial complaint.
