Yeah, I figured it would do nothing, but I want it was the only thing of the 3 things he told me to try that I hadn't done yet. The other 2 was shut off system firewall and shut off hardware firewall, which I do not have because I have no router.

but at least I got a $20 coupon code for the EA store out of this. :/

I want a coupon code too! D:

i just test the dragon age II demo and very excited with the new game play & the story. i didnt any problem log in with the demo version. Then i buy dragon age II (steam version) didnt see any problem while installing. The graphic much better, the problem are i cant log in.i try the demo version also cant log in. i did try log in in dragon age origin, its ok.

i hope the it will fix soon. im really like the new dragon age :D

Login into dragon age Origins is different than DA2.   You have to have 2 accounts for DA2

One EA, and One Bioware Social.  Both accounts need to have the same login name and password.

with DA:O you only needed the bioware social...

Okay guys, I've just finished my conversation with an EA Support employee on their chat and after trying many different things we managed to find a solution which finally made both my DA2 and EADM running. In my case I was neither able to activate the game (DA2) because of the DRM, nor log into the EADM. I think I'll just paste the part we're interested in:

I would like you to follow the instructions below to Power Cycle your Router and modem to free up bandwidth causing a better more stable connection:
1. Unplug the Power Cord from the back of your Router and Modem.
2. Leave it unplugged for about 10 minutes.
3. Go ahead and plug the Power Cords back in.

After doing so, I would like you to follow the instructions below on the computer the is directly connected to your Modem:
1. Hold down the Windows key and press R
2. At the Run command, type cmd and press enter
3. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter
4. Type ipconfig /registerdns and press enter
5. Type ipconfig /release and press enter
6. Type ipconfig /renew and press enter
7. Type netsh winsoc reset and then press enter
8. Restart the computer

I would also like you to get in contact with your Internet Service Provider or Router Manufacture and ask them to walk you through how to get the ports below opened:
TCP: 80, 443, 9960-9969, 1024-1124, 18000, 18120, 18060, 27900, 28910, 29900
UDP: 1024-1124, 18000, 29900

In my case trying these few tricks 'n configurations in the cmd window AND restarting the machine was enough to make it work.

Best wishes

Legend. ;-)
Worked for me.
Now why couldn't they tell me this straight up instead of making me wait for 10 days?! I told two tech support guys my activation wouldn't work, nor would EADM. (But EADM wasn't a priority because I rarely use it.)
You musta got the smart one. ;-)

Thanks so much. :-D

I can't believe I totally forgot about /flushdns :o

not that I'm having connection issues, because I can play the game just fine! just maybe it will fix the fact my profile won't update :D

Update...

Yup, fixed that issue :D

Opened all these ports (but used cmd to open the range ones as windows firewall only lets you type in 1 port at a time), did all the stuff listed  above and rebooted: Still says "Must be connected to the internet to access online features."/refuses to let me log in.

Can either of you by pass your router or network set up and plug your modem directly into your PC? See if you have an issue then?

I think I've been advised to contact my ISP because disabling both my McAfee Firewall and Windows Firewall didn't solve the issue (opening ports in these applications is pointless, then). Actually, I was told that usually Windows Firewall creates more problems than it resolves.

Listen to Lacan82's advice, too.

Fantastic, it works for me as well. Yeah, you must have gotten a good tech support guy, because all 3 of mine gave me pretty useless info and they didn't respond to my follow up emails.

I would add to make sure that you run the cmd as an administrator, because some of those commands aren't available unless you're the admin.

It took me (far too) long to find my problem but managed to get everything to work.
I installed Windows 7 over vista so i ended up with 2 host files.
I was looking for the wrong host file.

Removing the 127.0.0.1 Ea rules solved everything.

Follow all the instructions once again and make sure you wait a while after typing each command in the cmd window. It sometimes takes a few seconds for the system to finish requested action.

Also, try disabling all firewalls, too.

I don't know if this is the same problem, but right now I can't play the game because it asks me to activate the account or sign in to my EA account. When I do sign in it asks me to put in the license key again, but it still fails after I put it in because it says the license key is already used. I have not tried installing the game in another computer nor have I given the license key of my game to anyone else. Help!

You probably need to "sign in" instead of the activate option. It sounds like you've done it once already.

I tried some of the above, and no luck so far.

Win 7 x64 Quad Core {Administrator}  with updated NVidia Graphics Card, Norton Internet Security 2011

My Router is Wireless Connection, but i ran the 8 steps listed ok and restarted computer.

I don't want to either phone up my Internet service provider and wrestle with port numbers over the phone, nor try to connect my computer to modem directly.

If someone could post where i go to add those TCP & UDP numbers, and how to make those changes i would be grateful, presuming it is something i can do in Windows 7 ?

I guess i am living in hope that Bioware will release some patch to make my game work so i can get all the equipment in my chest before i finish the game. Also my Premium Content doesn't work yet although i have downloaded it manually from the Social Network, and it appears when you click on the "Downloadable Content"  button. All 3 items of Premium Content say "Version Number ............unauthorised 1.0" I guess they would work and become "authorised" if i could only login.

So all i can do is play the basic game, without any of the extras i have paid for.

Please someone from Bioware respond to my plight here.

Hey guys, I seem to have a problem with the "Servers temporarily unavailable please try again later"

I have Windows Vista and Windows firewall? Possible Anti-malware. I'm not brilliant with computers but i can use one decently. Any tips on how to get it working or is anyone having the same server problem? I'm from scotland if that helps.
Thanks :)

Since obviously many people cannot be bothered to read through this thread in it's entirety, I'll repeat instructions for all those who have the "You must be connected to the internet..." issue so they can't use their bonus items:
As a temporary fix (until Bioware hopefully gets around to fix this) you have to activate the hidden Administrator Account on your PC and run the game on this account.

Instructions to do so can be found here:
Win 7 -> http://www.sevenforu...le-disable.html Win Vista is essentially the same process - see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555910

This seems to be working for most who have tried it so far.

Note: It seems this only works for those who were already able to activate their games and are just having problems with the ingame login.

Good luck and have fun!

P.S.: To any Bioware guys reading this: Please acknowledge this error and post the "fix" in the OP until it's fixed for good. Thanks
