literally read this entire thread and have exactly, nearly to the letter, problem as phil matthews. it just says i need to be connected to the internet. problem is i play games, i'm not a technical wiz kid. i know some basic things but some of these fixes are way out of my league in case i mess up my computer just by sheer incompetence. i have tried the command pinging, tried checking host file but no EA.com line in there, i am administrator on my PC, added exceptions to the firewall and my kaspersky already has it as an exception. so please, bioware or EA or anyone help. Running windows vista 64-bit home premium, 2.66 ghz core 2 duo, 4 gig of ram, ATI Radeon HD 3800 series.

The hidden admin account should probably solve your problem for now.
Here is a step by step guide to activate it:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555910

You can't do much wrong with that as long as you just play the game on this account and use your regular account for everything else.

To the BIOWARE guys: It appears that most anyone who has this problem has a 64-Bit core/Windows. (I use Win7 64-Bit myself) Maybe there's a connection there?

i just test the dragon age II demo and very excited with the new game play & the story. i didnt any problem log in with the demo version. Then i buy dragon age II (steam version) didnt see any problem while installing. The graphic much better, the problem are i cant log in.i try the demo version also cant log in. i did try log in in dragon age origin, its ok.

i hope the it will fix soon. im really like the new dragon age :D

Login into dragon age Origins is different than DA2.   You have to have 2 accounts for DA2

One EA, and One Bioware Social.  Both accounts need to have the same login name and password.

with DA:O you only needed the bioware social...

actually i do have bioware account & EA too..i do create EA account to buy dlc for dao..thanz for replay..i hope can fix it Image IPB

Experiencing the same problem. As an update, it's also happening when trying to play ME2, so I'm guessing it's not DA2 related.

Ok, I finally found a fix on the Mass Effect 2 forums:

http://social.biowar.../index/829894/4

For those having the "You must be connected to the internet to access online features of the title" error, that haven't been able to play the game under their main account, but could using the Administrator Account in Windows 7, try this:

Open your Internet Explorer 8 (even if that's not the browser you normally use), click on your connection tab under Internet Options (might be different, mine is in spanish), click on LAN settings at the bottom and then deselect "auto detect setting". Click OK and try running the game again.

Hope that fixes it for those with problems as it did for me.

Doesn't work for me, unless the fact that I upgraded to IE9 affects the "fix". Auto-Detect was already unselected. Selected it and tried the game, then unselected and tried the game asnd still shows it.

Twilight Wolf: I know all about that workaround, but I don't want to switch back and forth from my main account and my admin account to play 1 game. Especyally since the last 3 times I briefly switched back and forth caused a BSOD.

Okay... i tried the IE fix again and for some reason this time it actually worked. Dunno if it has anything to do with buying and currently dling the Arrival ME2 dlc, but it actually lets me connect now.

I tried it, but it still doesn't work. Starting DA2 literally kills my wireless connection, and I can't reconnect until I close DA2.

After trying to play DA:O today and being unable to access DLC or any save that included DLC, this is what worked for me. I found that if I log out of my Bioware/EA account I'm able to play with no problems whatsoever. All my DLC is there and all my saves are accessible. When I stopped playing, I saved, logged in, and any achievements I unlocked updated on the social site. Not sure if this will work for DA2 as I haven't experienced this problem with that game, but figured I'd share to see if it works for some.

If you're not logged in on DA2 your DLC content will become Unauthorized. You can't play the game with your DLC until you log back in.

Why can arise such a problem: Servers Dragon Age is temporarily unavailable. Please try again. The error occurs in the game when the game tries to go to social programs. What should I do?

I have been having the same issue with not being able to log in to the DA II servers wich was uncool since i purchased all the DL content. I use McAfee Total protection and had set it to fully allow DAII in and out and even set my ports with nothing able to eliminate the servers are down issue. Out of curiosity I uninstalled my McAfee Total protection and then ran the game, I'm happy to say I was able to log into the server with no issue at all and got my DL content authorized. If your running a McAfee virus or firewall protection you may need to uninstall it, logg in then reinstall when done. Works fine now.Image IPB

I just wanted to check in with this thread to see if anyone is still having login and authentication issues now that the 1.03 patch has been out for a couple of weeks. We've got some new DLC coming soon and I want to make sure that everyone's systems are in a good state so we can avoid any unnecessary login & authentication issues when it finally arrives.

Thanks,
Rob

Best I can figure, this: http://social.biowar...0/index/7653749 should be an authentication issue. But I can't figure out how it would be possible, when everything else apart from the one item works just as it should.

Maybe give people the manual install option for all bonus content in the future, just in case its related to that?

I'm still having problems. :(

Now it did manage to connect for a few minutes and then it disconnected.

I had a similar problem for Dragon Age Origins. It did not work for a couple of weeks and then it worked yesterday.

I have not done anything to my computer and I had no connection problems before the patch. I've done every suggestion. .

I really want this to work again so I can buy the DLC. :wizard:

I am still having problems as well. The second I log in, I get "you have lost your connection to the EA servers" this happens every time I play.
