Cannot login +1 . From Europe. This morning only. yesturday everything worked perfectly. Game still is playable, just progress not uploaded, so not much worries. Progress gets uploaded once you connect to servers again. save games stays on pc either way.
Sweet! Thanks for the info - back to Darkspawn massacre for me then

I just spent a frustrating 45 minutes trying to fix the game after getting the "could not connect to DA servers error" Read the first two pages of this post; mucked around with Norton, Adaware and Host files.
OldBenKenobi's reply and advice (below) worked like a charm:

Kudos to OldBenKenobi and far easier that all that mucking around with firewall exclusions and host files!

AE servers have been shut down i guess cuz nobody or most players have difficulties with loging in.
20 minutes ago i always lost connection with their server and now i cant even go to the login page so i guess they have shutted it down for the moment

I chatted to tech. support and they said they'd just registered my key manually and advised me to restart and reinstall. It didn't work though...
Another weird thing I've noticed about the Activation application is that, if you click "Create Account" it seems to be able to connect to an EA server at 159.153.99.30 and, if you were to type in your account's email, it can connect in order to tell you that email address is already in use.
Nothing seems to happen when the "Sign In" button is clicked though.

I tried to "Create Account" and it tells me my computer is offline. All attempts to sign in get the "check internet connection" message.

And if I run the game from my account (which is also an administrator type) I cannot connect to the servers in game and get the message that I have to be connected to the internet first.
Please help.

Are you using port forwarding or a proxy by any chance? I'm at university and need to use a proxy to access some things that the University network blocks. (Eg: Dragon Age Legends)
When I enable my proxy and click "Create Account" it takes about 10 seconds and tells me I'm offline. However, if I turn OFF the proxy, it loads the "Create Account" stuff just fine.
I was in touch with tech. support again earlier and the guy didn't know what else to say. I've been told a "higher authority" has been informed and I should expect an email.
Probably have to wait till Monday for it though... >

I tried to contact EA support to see if they could activate it at their end after reading Childofbaahl's post, but when it asks me to sign in it tells me that me username or password is invalid. I thought that was strange as when I created an EA master account (during the Staff of Parthalan offer) I made sure that my e-mail, username, and password were the same as here on the social site.
True enough, I went to EA.com and signed in there with no problems whatsoever, so I don't know why I can't activate my game or contact EA support with the exact same details. Could someone explain this to me, please?

I am unable to activate the game. Same issue as some others where it's saying 'We could not activate Dragon Age II on this computer using the EA account you provided."
...
One of my friends got that exact same message and was able to activate it by clicking the button to re-enter their serial number. (Not sure what the *exactly* the button said, but it was something to that effect)
After that, they just typed in their serial number (With dashes) and it worked fine.
Might be worth a shot?

I spoke to somebody at EA on the live chat support, but they just forwarded my issue to a higher level for review, and now I have to wait for an email response (which I really hope sorts it out :S)

Ah, cheers, Tactical Atomic Penguin - you're a star! That worked a charm, and I'm now at the 'launch' screen.
Glad it helped you!
Just hope I can get my game activated soon.
