You should of received an e-mail from the place you pre-ordered from with a code to unlock that blade.

I finished the game just today since I bought it over the weekend and I installed The Black Emporium because I got it on free promo code from Steam so then after I installed it, it tells me it's unauthorized and I can't log in to Dragon Age 2 servers either. I think it might be a firewall issue and to confirm that my university admin just emailed me back saying it most likely is.

Yes, you'll get Unauthorized when you don't log into the DA2 server. It will not let you play any extra content until it verifies that you are edgiable to play it.

My fix (Win7 x64):
Used a command similar to this in a Command Prompt with Administrator Privileges:
C:\\Windows\\system32>mklink /j "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age 2" "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon AgeT II"
(I recommend tab completion to be used on your own machines to ensure the TM character is handled properly)

Note, I removed (renamed) the installed Dragon Age 2 directory then made the junction. This will leave a permanent pointer (well until it's properly deleted) to the actual install directory to match what is in the registry. Here is the location of the registry key:
HKLM\\Software\\Wow6432Node\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age 2\\Install Dir

You can fix it by either making the Registry point to the actual install location, or make the actual install location the place the install is, or both.


I originally installed by taking the files from the EADM, copy them into Program FIles, and then run the installer from C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age™ II\\__Installer\\DISK1
By default, it seems the registry keys and install dir have a mis-match.

 I also have problems with DLC's not showing up under My Registered Game Content.
I've tried with Chrome, FF & IE9. I also have reasonable internet. 1.2MB/s average through EADM & Steam.

I've contacted support.ea.com/chat 3 times, I've gotten and used 6 different codes (3 for Exiled Prince & 3 for Black Emporium). They've also tried to manually add them to my account, but with no success. One guy added Dragon Age II to my EADM account (Previously played it via Steam), but after I installed it through EADM, it still didn't work. He gave me the signature edition, and I got all the in-game items (Including Ser Isaac's Armor), but no DLC. 

My theory is: Broken/Corrupt account. 

During my last chat with EA, they gave up and wanted to send me an e-mail instead, so I'm waiting for that. If whatever they try to do to fix it doesn't work, I'll see if it's possible to terminate my EA account and let me create a new one. Of course, They'll have to add all my previous games to that account, and they prolly won't agree with doing it, but w/e....


EDIT: Oh, and I don't know if it matters, but under "Unlocks" on my Dragon Age II Online Profile, it says I should have Hayder's Razor, Boots of the Frozen Wastes, Hindsight, Fadeshear, Staff of Parthalan, The Lion Of Orlais, Ser Isaac's Armor, Blood Dragon Armor, Lothering's Lamet, The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall & Of Things Not Lost.

But I only have Hayder's Razor, Hindsight, Boots of the Frozen Wastes, Fadeshear, Ser Isaac's Armor & Blood Dragon Armor in-game.

Okay, maybe my comp is just being slow, but i bought the disc, downloaded it, regestered it, entered the Black Emporium code and had it accepted, DOWNLOADED the Black Emporium from my regestered content page, and still when I go into the game it says that i have no DLCs installed... HELP?!

Same problems here. Redeemed my code but in the downloads section there is no Black Emporium. It should work as me and my friend bought our copies at the same time and we were at his house when he entered his code and downloaded it. When i came home and opened my copy, the code gave me all the items except the Black Emporium.

Well I too am still having this problem. Quite peeved because now I've actually finished the game w/o Sebastian and Black Emporium. I emailed back and forth with EA tech support for a week with no results and now they're just not answering my emails anymore? PLEASE FIX THIS.

I have downloaded and installed, both The Exiled Prince and The Black Emporium, however, neither of them works in game. I went through a whole playthrough and could not access either of them.... which pisses me off a tad since I paid for them. any have any insight?

Confirm the game has register that content is there by going to download content in the menu list.

i had 1 issue were it did the opsite and unlocked all dlc had box with every thing in it   then i picked it all up and game crashed  i started back up and went to go re loot the box and it had my normal dlc content in it

My game says I did the Exiled Prince quest when I never even saw it. It's checked off as done but I never saw it. Also, my game could not connect to the servers here since I was on level 11 and I finished on level 22. I kept logging in and logging in and nothing helped.

1. Buy the game
2. Register and enter codes
3 Content shows up in "your registered game content". Every item in that list is then automatically given to me in the game except for Black Emporium.
4. Try to manually download Black Emporium by clicking the only option "More Info" but nothing happens except for an error message.

Why do these items appear in the game just by entering some codes without the need to download them from "your registered game content" but Black Emporium remain lost in limbo?

Black Emporium not available. I went around and around on this issue. Access code had been used and could not be re used. No in game access. Eventually went to on line help. My access code had been used - by me - in logging in via a different Electronic Arts profile and e-mail address. After a quick check On line help issued a new access code for this profile and its now available in game. Other DLC was not affected, but maybe I used the correct account. Also I noted an earlier comment to ensure you are logged in. The tab bottom LHS of the first menu "lies" Thanks to On Line Help.

I have both of the DLCs installe,d though they say unauthorized due to the fact that they are for the 1.00 any idea on how I can either update them or atleast get them Authorized?

You get the unauthorized message when you're not logged in correctly.  Logout and log back in should clear it.

I have a host of unlockable items registered to my account as well as The Black Emporium and The Exiled Prince. Both DLC is listed as installed under my downloadable content but I haven't received any sign of them in the game. I realize I'm supposed to receive a letter at the writing desk to activate these but I haven't. My unlockable section has numerous items but they're all shadowed out and there is nothing in my chests at the mansion. They're all there to been seen as registered under my account. I can't write to DA2 Customer Support because the login is saying my info is wrong when it's not as I can see my Account Name on my Profile obviously and had changed my password to ensure it was correct. What a mess. Please help.

Bought DA2 retail version, registered it and entered the code for Black Emporium. It is listed as available in my content but won't download. I click on 'Info" and then the download link and it disconnects me from my server. I turned my firewall off and that didn't help. Ideas on a bypass are immensly appreciated.

Just got the item pack and can't install (Dragon Age 2 not installed message). I have the SE from EA Store and never had problems with DLC before. 1.02 installed. Sugestion?

Edit: Nvm. Apparently setting your computer to work with japanese non-unicode does bad thing to your file system...
