I'm in act 3 I think (just finished Deep Roads). Bait and Switch (the quest I've read you get Fenris in) isn't available to me. Is this a later quest or I've missed him entirely?
Possible to miss Fenris?

You must have missed him, he was the first companion I had beyond the ones you could have in the demo and the dwarf guy that you get no choice on. Think it is one of the dwarf guys quests he finds for you after you talk to him/cut scene in the bar. Not sure on that though but Fenris is real early in the game right after you get into town just about.

If that was your first time in the deep roads then you're in Act 2, not Act 3. Fenris needs to be recruited in Act 1.

Okay. I'm in act 3 I think now. I just talked to the Qunari and they are destroying the city. I only have Anders, Aveline, Varric, and Merril. I didn't come across Isabella or Fenris, which is a shame. So am I stuck with these four characters? I wanted my ideal team to be Fenris, Merril, and Anders.

Did you just avoid going to the Hanged Man? Because a little into act 1 when you enter, there is a cutscene of Isabella kicking ass, you can talk to and recruit her from there. And Fenris is from a quest you get in Act 1 (which you seem to know). So I guess on your next playthrough, explore around a bit and you should get everyone.
BTW, isabella is awesome in combat. Seeing here teleporting around, and people exploding is pretty epic.

"Bait & Switch" has always been one of the first letter quests that I get at home. Not sure if it matters, but I always join the smugglers in the beginning. When you're at your house, check the desk and available quests will pop up. If it doesn't do another quest or two, then head back and check again.
