Every time I've played DA2 for long enough to save a few times (somewhere between 5-10 saves), the next time I try saving, it fails. I can't remember the error exactly, but it's something like "miscellaneous failure, game not saved."
At first, I though "no problem, I'll just try again," but no dice. Trying to save after the failure causes the game to perpetually show the rotating save icon, as though it's trying to save but can't quite finish, and this just goes on and on with both the save and load options in the menu greyed out. At that point, I have no choice but to either quit to the dashboard or just shut down the xbox.
Anyone else seen this problem? I'm hoping it's being caused by the fact that I'm saving to an external usb drive (so I can take my saves back and forth between the xboxes in the living room and the bedroom), but I haven't had time to test this yet. Next time I try playing, I'm going to move my saves to the internal xbox hd to see if it fixes the problem.
For reference, I'm playing the Signature Edition of DA2 on a 4GB Xbox 360 Slim with a 250GB hard drive installed and a usb drive plugged in for save portability. I'm saving to the usb drive and I have the game installed to the 250GB hard drive along with all the DLC.

Now that I'm using the internal hard drive to save, I've been able to play without issue since I posted this a few hours ago. It seems like the usb drive was the problem after all, although a faster one might fare better (the xbox complained about mine being too slow when I first set it up as a memory unit).
Anyway, hopefully this bit of trial and error can help anyone else having similar save failures.

Yeah, if the Xbox complained about the drive when you set it up, that's the most likely cause. In the meantime, however, can you post the make, model and specs for the USB drive so we can investigate further?
Thanks!
Thanks!
