So I just met Anders and they gave me three options.

Yes - Flirt
No - Break Romance
I didn't expect it that's all - Flirt

So because I don't want to sex him up he gets 10 Rival points?

I haven't gotten to play a whole lot yet (I've got a fever) but does this happen often with other characters too?

I was wondering the exact same thing, to be honest.

i use to think of him like alistar, but now both of them are two moody in the new game, they use to be so fun.

(SPOILER) if you kick alistar out in DAO, he appears in the hanging manin DA2

Anders was a huge dissapointment in DA2. Before he was all awesome and now he is so serius.

Both Anders and Fenris were quite annoying. Emo personality - blah.

The two Female options were much more interesting.

His moodiness is justified, apparently. Read through all of his codex entries.

That's the only conversation where I can really say I felt like I got backed into a romance choice with him. It was kind of annoying. The played through the conversation a few more times to avoid the topic and the most you can get out of it while avoiding it is a +5 rival.

It doesn't really matter because if you JUST met him you can't technically enter a relationship. They have to be at least fifty percent either way for you to do that. I flirted with him intentionally before that but it didn't lock me in with him.

And really, he is justified. He feels bad for corrupting Justice and for what his plans are. He wants the mages to be free but the templars are terrible there. Plus he's going to be more serious. Does everyone remember Justice and how no-nonsense he was? Yeah.
