As with others, I'm getting the annoying drive not ready problem. But unlike others, asides from it bbeing annoying, I can't actually play. If I click any option, my screen just goes black and I have to force quit the game....

Try disabling the drive through the BIOS (if it's a floppy), removing the assigned drive letter via Disk Management (if it's not a floppy) or inserting blank media into the drive. These seem to work around the error.

I noticed that my game would sometimes appear to crash at a black screen when I was getting this error. In Windows 7 / Vista, if you hit CTRL-ALT-DEL it brings up a full-screen menu to launch task manager, etc. This seems to get the game "unstuck".

Also, running the game in Windowed Mode seems to bypass the crash-to-black screen for me when these drive errors occur.

When it was happening on my machine, ALT-TAB didn't always work. Sometimes it did, but sometimes the screen would just stay black. I found the CTRL-ALT-DEL to get back to the desktop, then clicking the icon in the task bar always worked.

Same here.
I click continue 3 times, screen black with a white line on the top screen. Alt+TAB twice and I'm back at the game menu again.

Sad... and here I thought DA2 would be a tad bit more polished than the first one... Adding new features and gameplay elements and all is cool Bioware, but technical issues that rip players out of the 'universe' you so badly want to immerse us in, aint... :-(

I am having the same problem, even though I don't  have a floppy drive in my computer.

If you don't actually have a floppy drive and you're getting an error about drive A:, Windows may think that you have a floppy drive anyway. Go into your computer's BIOS and make sure that the floppy drive is disabled. You can usually do this by pressing DEL or F2 when your computer is first booting, before the "Loading Windows" screen appears.

Alternatively, you can disable the floppy drive in Windows via Device Manager.

Mine was doing this until I changed the DirectX from 11 to 9 in the config menu. Unless your running a Geforce 400 or better, or Radeon 5000/6000. These are the only cards that support DirectX 11 so im told. Odd why the game would default to DirectX 11.....

Same here, I can click through it and play but it drops me to windowed mode which is annoying. Here's looking forward to another poorly engineered game.

I'm gettign the same error.  I hit try again and it runs fine.  I do have to go to desktop and then pull the game back up.

Try Downloading the Beta Patch from the following Link. It should help with the Drive Nor Ready issue.
