The quest you assist with the Sister freeing the Qunari mage i stopped after i accidently said i was a mage and killed the qunari and then the mage killed himself anyways....after i free his binds....
Is he a possible party member and does killing the Qunari that are after him get me in trouble with the leader of the Qunari...??

Apparently he is not! He will be killed (or commit suicide) whatever you choose in the dialog wheel.
