Met Sandal and his father, and the merchant was more than happy to sell me stuff. It's just that when he says "have a look" the shop does not pop up and i'm just returned to main game. I ask again, he's more than happy to show me his shop, but the samt thing happens every time - no shop inventory is shown, and I am returned to main game.
Help would be much appreciated!

You have to click the bag next to him. Not at all intuitive to what you'd expect, especially since there is no prompt or 'tip' about it.
All merchants have a table/sack/object next to them that you click on. Shops are no longer accessed through character interaction/dialogue.
