What exactly controls upgrades to companion armors? It seems that Beth's has one of the four bars filled, but I don't think any other has. I remember finding an old picture of Mother that apparently was a gift item. Are those what control them?
She was also maxed out on Friendship, which wasn't hard since she already had it high to begin with. Is that another factor>
So did I miss out on gift items for other chars? I have nothing left of this part except the deep roads expedition.
Companion armor upgrades?

Bethany only has one. There are upgrades for others in either shops or loots, but they are spread out throughout the acts so you won't get them all until the later stages.

Look everywhere - and look in the 'OTHER' tab in shops - this is where you'll find the juicy stuff, backpacks, recipes, armour upgrades and tomes
