I couldn't find where to ask this, so I thought I'd make a topic.

I just got into the second act, interacted with all my part-members, and did some sideques + Varric's family thing.

I can't seem to find a way to get companions to give me their quests. I need to do the elf-mage's so I can finish off a sidequest, and Fenris' for Ander's gift.

My other question is how do I make runes? I know in my house I can augment them into my armor, but what do I do with all these supplies.

One more question, how do I get Ander's companion quest? I want to have my character romance him in the future.

you can get companion quests by talking to each companion in their home base. If they have anything important to say, they'll have the little plot (double arrow) icon over them and on the map. You will need to progress further in the main story to unlock all of the companion quests.

As for runecrafting, you can make the runes in your house (opposite of where sandal and the enchantment apparatus are) There is a table with 3 clickable items; for potion making,poison/bombmaking,and runemaking. The rune one is in the middle IRRC. You can find/buy rune recipes throughout the world, and make sure you grab every resource node you come across. Runes require Lyrium, Orihalcon, Glitterdust, and dragonsblood, if I'm not mistaken. You can get pretty basic runes (fire) for something like one lyrium.

To explain how all crafting works: You need to first find the recipes, they show up as loot, in chests, and in shops (under the "other" tab) They will automatically be added to the list of stuff you can make. You then need to get the varying resources (different amounts of different types for each recipe) However, you do not expend the resources when you craft, you simply need to have x amount to buy each one. It's pretty cheap. Most potions/runes cost around 50 silver, so it's quite easy to just make a crapload late in the game to make sure you're stocked up.

Okay, here is the question: I can go to Sandal at my house, and he in turn can enchant runes I have obtained into my armor, or weapons, but as I am alone, how can I enchant my companions armor, as I cannot take their armor with me, thus there has to be somewhere in the game where we can all be and add rune stones to everyone's stuff. I know I can take their weapons home with me, but what about their armor? Or am I asking too much? I have the official guide, but it does not tell you these things. Can I do this somewhere in the game, and if so, where?

... Sandal can always enchant companion armor. It doesn't matter where the companion is in Act 2/3.

In my game, it shows up in the list of armor along with everything else. Does it not show up in your game on the list?

They didn't bother to look at all AKOdin. It's pretty obvious just by looking at the list everything is there.

the upper corner where it says Equiped by: name should have been the 2nd big clue that you have access to companion equipment.
