What are the exploding blue balls of death that the Arcane Horrors and Sten-like mages cast? It's one shotting my mages on Hard. Are mobs casting mana clash?

I think they're similar to fireballs but do other elemental damage. With the saarabas it's a lightning ball and with the emissary it's a fireball variant.
