OK, I give. I can't seem to figure out what the different gear colors represent. At first I thought they conveyed an item's rarity in order of Grey<Red<Orange<Green, but I've come across grey gear that is much better than the red gear I have.
All my DLC is green, and orange equipment seems to be decent so far as I can tell, anyone have specifics on how the gear colors work?
Inventory icon colors.

I was wondering about that too and was about to start a new thread when I saw yours.

I've played quite a bit of DA2 now, and I'm still stumped. Red equipment seems to be junk, but with exceptions. Orange gear is named/unique. Most green icons are DLC or companion armor, but some isn't.
Silver/grey stuff is either randomly buffed (like Diablo equip) or named and unique.
You would think there's some reason behind the icon colors, but BioWare doesn't seem to have been consistent.

This also horrendously puzzles me, a quick official word would sort things out
(Please, almighty Bioware gods?)

Colour is representative of strength within that item level.

Yup, these colors are really weird with little meaning, except for green (dlc, companion upgrade) and purple (awesome unique).

It's totally unrelated, how is it the right spot ? Anywho, go see Bodhan and Sandal in Hightown.
