But thanks for the information about stun. I'll have to keep an eye on that.

Will only work on PC (the abilities are bugged on console due to targetting). Thankfully, I'm on PC.Simz1986 wrote...

On Nightmare I find it helpful to have Aveline engage a group and Stonewall, while everyone else ignores that group and pick off the rest, then return to the first group. Agro management in DA2, much like that of a number of MMORPGs, is the responsibility of the DPS, not just the tank's.

You might consider not starting fights with those sustains on. Taunt, then activate them. Free stamina. My main problem getting Avelline to hold threat is that she has bupkiss for stamina. She's got two modals that reserve half her stamina. She can maybe taunt once per fight.

I do wish I had more snap threat than Taunt though, because situations do arise where she hits Taunt too early in a wave and half of the enemies are still running around. Improved Shield Bash is decent, and Assault can work, but it feels like she is much too reliant upon Taunt.

Does anyone else have this problem? Aveline cannot hold aggro on anything. Somehow Anders or Merrill or Hawke keep getting targetted. I'm looking at her hits, and she's hittings 1s, so I'm guessing she's not doing enough damage to get threat.
Thats why Aveline is garbage. If the rest of your party dies, she will not be able to kill whats left unless you have a LOT of heal potions. Fenris might die faster, but hell, he can at least kill trash mobs.

No doubt Fearless Synergy is a good talent, but I'm still questionable about the utility of it on the higher difficulties. Does the threat transfer only apply to threat generated by party members who are standing within the 10m aura of Battle Synergy at the time of threat generation? Unless the party is melee heavy, seems like a lot of the time characters will need to be out of the aura, whether it be for kiting, repositioning, line-of-sighting ranged enemies, etc.

in my game she just stands still looking like an idiot maybe takes a swing here or there but other than that she is as worthless as her templar husband <_<Eludajae wrote...
For some reason Aveline does not taunt all the time. And like Soteria said everytime you stun you clear agro. If your using a mage clear their agro with mind blast.

Fenris keeps things glued to him though. The only drawback: A party of Mage Hawke, Merril, and Anders means all Fenris EVER talks about is his hatred of mages.
