Alright so, this might be some sort of obvious user error on my behalf, and if so I'm sorry for wasting your time, but I seem to be completely unable to bind the following keys:

L/R shift
L/R alt
L/R ctrl

These keys would greatly enhance my combat capability and fluidity. Any reason I can't use them?

At the moment, this setup is by design. Shift/Ctrl/Alt are all modifiers but not the primary key. So you can map Shift-C, Shift-Ctrl-Alt-B, etc. but not just a single modifier key. We also don't
differentiate between left and right modifier keys.

I have added this to the list of suggestions for future projects/expansions, but at the moment, this is not something we're looking at changing for Dragon Age II. Thanks for the feedback.
