I've noticed the same thing. I'm guessing that it's a problem with memory caching or the like. I'm no expert, but when my load times start bogging down, that's when I exit and restart the game. After that, when the memory is, or should be, cleared, it runs normally again. I'm no expert, but that's what it appears to be to me.

Load times are atrocious the further into the game you get. One thing you could do is turn down the graphics or keep your pack as light as possible so there's less to load and fewer database links to establish.

The load times are worst in Orzammar and Denerim for me. Orzammar moreso than Denerim. Rebooting the game helps to alleviate load times in those areas though.

Load times are acceptable for me. What are you getting at? 3 minutes, 2 minutes? 30 seconds for the most part on my end.

When I went into Orzammar after playing the game a couple of hours, I had load times that could be 10 minutes when trying to get from the diamond district to the merchant quarters.

There is an issue with stability decreasing over play time. The devs are aware of this, and, I assume, are working to patch.

I have a feeling this is related to load times, since increasing load times often eventually lead to a crash. As already mentioned, restarting the game after a long session, when noticing that load times are becoming longer, fixes this.

I have almost the same setup as the OP (only 4GB ram, but Radeon 5850 graphics). Unless 10-20 sec load times are unacceptable these days. But yeah, Orzammar was one of the worse areas.

I guess I'm not far enough into the game to have this problem. I'm amazed at how quick the quick save is, and load times are very quick on my humble rig. Maybe it helped to have done a defrag before installing the game.

I have noticed on a fairly decent rig slightly longer load times after a few hours of playing but it's nothing really serious, ( think the longest wait I've had is around a min which has happened once).

I believe the devs know of this as a few others have mentioned but the game has been fairly bug free so far for me.

Load times on DA:O are alot shorter than some games I have played in the past :P

I've got almost 20 hours in now and I've yet to have a load time over 20 seconds.. My system isn't crazy powerful but I've tweaked the hell out of it.

Load times seem very fast to me. They definitely get longer if you play a long session, but this can be fixed by exit/restart game. Orzammar definitely had some substantially longer load times regardless, but nothing I would find annoying enough to look for a patch about. I'm playing on a laptop as well, with most settings at medium. Theres got to be a problem with your memory or your game, or maybe you need to turn down some settings.
