Just a few thoughts here that could improve Gameplay. I love this game, but BioWare... you have been a little lazy in informing us about some game mechanics. You can't deny that!
  • A way to see debuff durations on enemies. Perhaps put it in the description or otherwise. (As far as I know, there is no way to see how long debuffs you put on enemies last, e.g Shattering shot.
  • The amount of damage a spell or talent does.
  • The cooldown a spell or talent has. Perhaps show this by having a number count down once it is on a cooldown.
  • Perhaps add a small number on a buff or debuff so you can see how long it lasts on yourself.
Feel free to add your own.

I like these ideas. Maybe also a combat log that's a tab to switch to in your journal. Right next to conversation history would make sense.

I'm sure all the MMO haters will despise me because of it, but i want target windows... I want to be able to see who each of my characters is targeting, and when I click on a mob i want to be able to see who its target is.

I don't see how you can hate an MMO and like DA:O. This is very much a single player MMO much of the time.

It would be quite useful to see who they are targeting. Yes.

- What the OP said about spells, but you could put it this way too: More information!

- Even when free movement is toggled off, warriors would still follow and attack enemies that disengage from the fight. Also continuing to attack after using an ability.

- Possibility to block (for example, doorways) with warriors, so enemies wouldn't just run through them.

- Longer cast times to spells. Insta cone of colds and fireballs are kind of annoying/overpowered.

Also it might be just me, but I'd like to see a lot of the features found in BG2 in DAO. Smallish things like group formation, bashing locks with weapons, etc.

I find that much of my game time is spent collecting loot to sell off. Take the mages tower for instance. There's about four levels filled with loot which you can't possibly carry back all at once. It took me about 90 minutes after the final battle in there to go back and forth manually picking up all the unclaimed loot.

My suggestion is simple. At the beginning of each zone, there is a chest. When you open it, it asks would you like to collect all unclaimed loot. All loot from corpses or containers that have been opened by the group in the zone will then be made availalbe in the chest and should be much easier to sell off. This will take out the tedious task of running backwards and forwards retracing your steps to pick up useless items to sell off.

It also means that as you are moving through the zone, you are deliberately not picking up extra junk in your inventory as you know that it will all get collected later. So it leaves room for other things that are useful.

Minor point: I'd like the chest you get in Soldier's peak to be automatically in your camp. It just makes sense-- things you wish to take along go in the pack, things you save for later (such as components for higher level crafting) can stay in camp. There is a patch for this on a mod site I found by googling, but it would have been nice to have it from the get go.

Controversial point-- after some reflection, I decided I liked the idea that my characters couldn't carry everything out of the dungeons. It forced you to make a decision, rather than automatically just grabbing everything you see. But being forced to carry things you wouldn't have taken along felt like too much of a penalty, and was just annoying.
