So, I'm thouroughly enjoying my nightmare playthrough, but I'm trying to figure out how the AoE of warrior melee attacks (particularly with Giant's Reach) interacts with the the friendly fire mechanics.
For special abilities, this is easy. Your activated abilities hit allies for full damage (Fenris doing 400 damage against poor innocent Rogue-Hawk demonstrated this clearly enough)
For autoattacks, things seem weird. It seems like my other melee party members are taking hits from Fenris+ Giant's reach, but the attacks always hit for 1 (+ elemental weapon bonuses) and sunder is definitly being applied to my party members. Is this intentional? I appreciate Fenris pulling his punches against his friends, and I don't think i've ever seen a normal-hit damage applied via Giant's Reach (ie: Fenris will do 80 damage against 3 shades and 1 damage against Hawk). I appreciate that Giant's Reach (and probably two-handed warriors in general) aren't totally party-destroying in Nightmare, but I'm curious if anyone has a better idea what's actually going on. Maybe Hawk just has such a high defence that every one of Fenris attacks against her is glancing?

Auto-attack melee freindly fire deals 1/10 damage or whatever a "glancing blow" is, as I understand.
Is Giant's Reach worth picking up? What I'm wondering is if it makes the cone wider or deeper.

I found that mob-control became MUCH easier with two warriors (Aveline+Fenris) than just one. I think Giant's Reach is a big part of that. Keeping the bosses locked onto your sword and board warrior is pretty easy, but the big crowds are much better handled by the huge AoE of Giant's Reach.
(This seems especially true with a two-weapon rogue, as any attacks that get directed at her cause the damage-twitch animation in nightmare. On the other hand, left to her own devices, the two-weapon rogue DPS is pretty cool to watch)
