I am still in the Act 1 of the game (been tooling around on sidequests before I follow the rest of the main quest and head into the Deep Roads) so maybe this is addressed later...but I have to say this bugging the heck out of me right now.

So I giggled uncontrollably when I saw Cullen as the Knight Commander in DA2, because there's just something about that guy that I love. However...I am playing as a mage Hawke. He was, ostensibly, a Templar at the Circle in Fereldan when Anders was pulling his escape shenanigans.

I called down a tempest in front of this man as I flounce about in my mage robes. Anders is standing *right next to me.* Yet this guy acts blissfully unaware that either of us are mages. I would be willing to suspend disbelief to say that he doesn't recognize Anders (maybe he didn't serve at the Circle long enough, maybe Anders looks different from the last time he saw him), but it a little difficult to swallow that he doesn't notice the lightening shooting out of Hawke's hands.

He is either the worst Templar EVER, this is a major plot hole, or my jaw will drop in the later Acts as this is explained.

Otherwise...enjoying the game so far!

All the templars are incompetent. All of them. You can stand in the middle of the Garrison and throw fireballs all day long while singing "What a pretty Apostate am I" and they will ignore you.

Forget the spells, the fact that they never notice the fact that I'm carrying a huge stick on my back is surprising enough. ._.

well to be honest, the dress and big stick on a male could mean that there are a log of lame drag queens in Kirkwall I suppose. :)

Either they make a class get attacked constantly by a faction throughout the city the entire game or you can assume for gameplay purposes you're allowed to use your classes skills and outside of story interaction you manage to keep it under wraps.

This has been bothering me to no end! So far, I think Fenris and whichever person you decide to work work to get into Kirkwall (mercenary/smuggler) are the only people other than family to say anything about Hawke being a mage. Then again, I'm not that far in the game, so I hope this changes. -_-
