During the Wayward Son quest in Act I when you kill Danzig and loot his body for the letter my sarcastic female Hawke was all,
"Looks like they took him to some hole in the Wounded Coast. I wonder if that's near the Injured Cliffs, or the Limping Hills, Massive Head Trauma Bay? No, just me. Oh forget I said anything."

That made me laugh. I even reloaded to hear it again because I didn't hear it all the first time.

Lol I just posted the same thing. Dodn't realize anyone else caught that too. I was thinking the same thing, regarding the Coast. I was all, "Somewhere they have to make fun of this." and they did.

In my playthrough, I think my favorite line was Gamlen's "So I've heard you've been slipping it to that pirate **** in the hanged man. Two women, i've always wondered about that." (Paraphrasing.)

But only because it happened only seconds after his "You're my only link to leandra, and we're family" speech. Hehe

Since the Talkative Man is somewhat unique, the following are my non fourth wall breaking favorite lines.

For comedic effect, Drunk Alistair's claim to be a Prince (anyone else find it weird that a drunk bum like him is wearing such nice clothes? ) :



My favorite serious line, however, is all Meredith. Sadly, I do not have a screenshot of that. It's Meredith's anguished cry of knowing exactly what she is doing is an injustice to the innocent in reply to Orsino's accusations of her tyranny and painting all mages with the same Blood Magic brush. The emotion she showed as she states she's well aware of the heartache she is causing, but she sees no better way, and furthermore, when she asks both you and Orsino if they have an actual plan that would be better...and neither you or Orsino are able to answer her with one. Best line in the game.

My favorite line was probably in Aveline's courting quest. (I don't remember the exact wording)
Aveline : Copper is hard, Marigolds are soft. I thought that was quite clear, Hawke.

Also the scene where Anders tries to give Varric his pillow...
Anders: Varric, I want you to have this. Its hand embroidered by my mother. It was the only thing of hers they allowed me to take to the circle.
Varric: Keep your stinking pillow. I don't want it.

A lot of Hawke's lines are ridiculous or downright bizarre. One of my favorites from her is when Varric is warning Hawke about her involvement with Anders. "Have you ever known me to be turned off by crazy?"


Aveline in her romance quest was consistently hilarious, and the exact quote escapes me but the line about fixing the situation and needing wheat and goats had me cracking up.

I really rofl'd with that one as well.

The one that actually kept me laughing for minutes was during Aveline's courting quest, though it was mostly so funny because of the quality of voice acting. Paraprasing:

Aveline (after the failed copper merigolds): I think I'll have to give him three goats and a bale of wheat
Merill: But that's a dowry gift! You only give that when you're courting someone!
Aveline: Merill...
Merill: OH! YOU'RE COURTING HIM!!!
