In origins it took me forever to set them up the way I wanted too. I am trying to decide what is the best setup for my characters. I know this would take some time for someone to post what they have and that it is successful, but any help would be great.

Right now I have unlocked(characters/Campanions):
Merrill
Anders
Varric
Carver
Isabella
Fenris

I am playing as a mage, which is not normal for me bc I usually always play my first playthrough as a warrior for all RPGs.  What I have noticed is that I don't really have an healer, which means I am going to have to do it.

My current setup is:

Me (Mage)
Anders (Healer)
Carver
Aveline

I haven't unlocked everyone that you have, but this will most likely be my main setup for now.  I like 2 warrior and 2 Mage setups.  Although I would like to have a Dual Weapon Rogue replace one of the warriors.  I just haven't come across a good character for that yet.


But usually on my first game I like to choose the same people and play them all the way through.  Then on following games I choose different people.  Imo that's the only way to really see how good the companions are.

Also if I decided to romance a character I might keep them with.  I'm sure any setup could be designed to work good so it's not really a decision of who is the best, it's how to setup what you have the best way.

I tried using Anders as a healer, but he doesn't have both Specializations unlocked...he has one of the healers, but not the other.
