Usually give it to Alliance.
After a while I did realize I could keep it for that "leverage" against cerberus.
N7: Lost Operative. What did you do with the data?

Does it matter what you do?

i always keep it, which was a great idea considering it has no future impact like many other decisions.

(Google brought me here!)
I guess since nobody mentioned any ME3 import effects from this mission, it doesn't matter what I do?
Most people seem to be keeping the data for themselves; leverage or useful information in the future.
Though, playing a Paragon, I'm not sure which choice I should choose. The Cerberus agent that died protecting the information despite an unknown amount of torture/interrogation at least earns Cerberus a good look at whether I should send the data he was protecting to them or not.
They should be able to immediately decrypt the files.
As for sending it to the Alliance, I'm guessing Shepard uploaded it directly to Anderson. If there's anyone who can safely get the data decrypted, it's him. It'll take years to decrypt.
Lastly, keeping the data for myself... It could take a year or more. Do I really trust EDI to not be forced to upload the data at some point?
... I don't know... I always feel pretty dumb when Shepard suddenly stops talking and just starts staring for a longgg period of time. (What do I do!? What do I do?!) "... Hello? Shepard??"

i used to send it to cerberus, but just send it to the alliance now as i have seen nothing come of it in ME3.
