Yeah. Named drops from tough bosses or rare areas weren't always up to snuff.

The maximum level so far is 50, and it's not that hard to get to that, the first time i finished the game at 46, so i'm going a second time with a rogue to try and get to 50. the most annoying thing is that even near the end you don't get goos enough weapons/ armor for high levels.

Even if you do EVERYTHING in the game you still won't make it to level 50, unless you glitch. I doubt you will have enough money to be crafting 20+ of those elixer things that give you a free level.

Maybe you could grind in the night to get more xp.

I'm not 100% but once you clear out enemy mobs and destroy their base don't enemies disappear until the next act?

What is the point of speed leveling anyway? Your defense and armor scale negatively by level. If you are level 50 with level 20 gear you will get smashed by weak mobs, Oblivion style, because your evade and armor are both 0%.

I don't think this is true-- the percentages shown for defense and armor are for an enemy of equal level to you.

I love how everyone assumes its a glitch but as was already hinted at previously night and coast spawns are a viable source of XP from 1 all the way to 50 as monsters and encounters scale to you (even if unique gear does not) its possible to just farm encounters to level when not questing.

I got up to around 26 (just into it) before the game ended, doing pretty much everything possible for the style of Hawke I was playing. I hope DLC adds more levels but then I also wonder if more levels is a good thing, considering how easily the last boss fell (on nightmare) I wonder if its going to be downhill.

Hell there weren't alot more spells I really wanted on my mage hawke anyways.

To clarify to all

The level cap is 50 to prepare for future DLC.

If you do all possible quests available this includes Emporium DLC & Exiled Prince you will be able to reach level 25 to near 26. Of course this is without using the exp glitch.

Using the exp glitch will allow you to hit level 50 in Act 1 in a few min. Warning, this totally makes the game boring unless you've already beat it once around and just want to goof around.

I'm sorry but it is true.

If you play on nightmare difficulty vs normal would that increase the exp you get in a mission? Or does it not matter what difficulty you play it on?

Interesting, it seems most people level out around the 23-25 at games end.

This has me comparing the maximum points you might expect in total at that level for a characters attributes, with some of the "end game" attributes and stats distribution for an NPC others have posted when discussing character builds.

For example this thread here has an image of Merril's final stats. The sum total for her points being 183. Her current level is not indicated though.

http://social.biowar...index/6533432/2

Now currently my Merril is at level 20 and her points currently add up to 126, well into Act 3.

So just how is it possible for Merril to gain another 60 points with only possibly 5 more levels to go till game end ? ( a possible maximum of 15 more attribute points for me vs the 60 more shown there ) Not even bonus items and tomes could push Merril to that sum total.

Are some people just cheating and adding attribute points via console etc to their favourite characters I'm left thinking ? ) Or am I missing something

I glitched (Lazy, Almost done with one and just messing around with this) to level 50 for my mage. Bad Idea. Now no equipment is good enough.

To clarify for everyone, you can get extra levels through a legitimate means, it just takes a long time. What you have to do is roam around the city at night and kill the random mobs that show up. Those mobs will keep showing up when you go into a new area as long as you DON'T ATTACK THEIR BASE. Using this method, I got to level twenty in act one by simply killing the random mobs in Hightown (Night), then going to Lowtown (Night), and back and forth.
This does, however, make the named gear worse than the mob-dropped gear in terms of armor, but the mob gear doesn't usually have the bonuses or rune slots scripted drops do. What this means is that it is better to simply go with the regular leveling that an ordinary playthrough would give you. If you want extra abilities that badly, I would point you to the Maker's Sigh Save Glitch.

the problem with that glitch is that everything scales with you, so now you're stuck with really hard enemies and crappy equipment

i know armor scales worse the more you level up, but i dont believe defense does.

my rogue finished the game at level 24 i think and was still at 80% defense against bosses, which is the cap.

i doubt most people really bother with defense though unless they play a rogue, as its nearly impossible to get it that high without the duelist specialization.

I maxed at lvl 27(PC), given that you disarm every trap, pick every lock, and do every possible quest in the game, and kill everyone (whenever you get the option to do so).

Several Tomes (At least 10) 20 points.
Special Rings, + Amulets, + Belt that gives you +1 to all attributes, 24 points.
44 points, and the rest can probably come from levels..
(There are a total of 6 tomes, + Valiance that i forgot about, + Heroism.. You should be able to hit 183 without glitching.)
