Im on the part where you have to go kill the Varterral. when I walk into the varterral hunting grounds and all the spiders drop down my party gets eaten alive. any one else having trouble getting this quest done?

Btw, doesn't the mirror look a tad bit smaller than when Duncan broke it? I mean the frame originally took up most of a huge cave.

I just finished the quest. I don't know if it's because I had Varric and Fenris, as well as me playing a rogue, but we handled the Varterral ok. I had to step back once or twice to wait on potion cooldown but no one died. Now I have to decide on wether or not to give the silly elf the tool..why do I think I'm going to regret this?

I didn't give Merrill the tool and she still slept with me. I think it's best she leave the mirror alone anyway, but I'm sure my blood mage Hawke will feel differently.
